The generators don't keep refrigeration running. When our electricity went down last time, the generators powered only emergency lights and half the registers (as far as I could tell). When the electricity goes out, all you can do is cover the open coolers with plastic sheeting, block off the refrigerated/frozen doors, and hope the power comes back on soon. And yeah, I'm pretty sure the rule is 3 hours w/o electricity means everything that's supposed to be cold has to be tossed.In my area we got an inch and a half and keep losing power from down lines. It took me 3 differerent attempts to get to work due to road closures. We also had to toss a bunch of market food. Idk what the rule is but it was over 3 hours and idk what happened with the generators.
