other than Cashiers,, Guest Services,,Food Ave.. Starbucks..Softlines and Hardlines.. what else does on in the Target Stores...esp who are the people who come in at 4am.. and who are the people who show up on the store floor right when the store closes??

Flow team from the truck unloading comes in at 4am - for SL and HL. Then you have price/accuracy, presentation, and instocks that come in generally in the early hours. Price/Accuracy regulates pricing in the store (changing labels when they go up and down) and manages clearance items. Presentation sets the floor (planogram team). Instocks does research on merchandise to make sure we are getting it in on the truck. Some stores are "ship from store" and those have TMs walking the store and filling orders to ship to guests. Can't think of anything else.

Signing: TM responsible for putting up signs throughout the store. There are also early Sunday shifts TMs can pick up listed as Signing, which entails putting up the new 3"x3" sticky sales signs.

AP: Asset Protection TMs ensure that expensive merchandise has protective tags/spider wrap, monitor potential shrink, and apprehend. We have AP folks here who can tell you a lot more about it.

Electronics: similar to Hardlines, except that the Electronics TM holds the key to access protected items in their area. May also be responsible for zoning and reshop in areas of the store near Electronics (ASANTS).

Cash Office: I'm not sure what this entails but I'm pretty sure it's a workcenter. Something to do with money, I imagine.

Cart Attendant: They round up the carts and keep the front end looking brand.

Human Resources TM: They work on writing the schedule, handling personnel issues, hiring, orientation, etc. Not an area I'm too familiar with.

There are probably some workcenters I'm forgetting/not familiar with. If you check the Guides section of the Breakroom, you can find more information about various workcenters.

Receiving.... checks in vendors and incoming/outgoing product.

PMT -- store maintenance

BR - Backroom team

Target Mobile - outside company that works at Target selling cell phones + plans

Already did in my area. After talking with some of the mobile TMs, they say that they now need to play a larger role throughout electronics, but still keep the same pay rate and still only get commission on phone stuff. Sounds kinda unfair to me.

Might be an ASANTS type thing, Target Tech in my store actually expanded their commission base to the point that there was an unspoken agreement to have them ring everything up, or if busy, ring it up under them.

so whats the most chill and stress free job in target?

I dont think any of our jobs are easy, some are harder than others, really depends on your skills and abilities.

HR is super chill on Fridays bc the schedule is done. I might say PMT, while it can get crazy it is a pretty independent job, little interaction with guest and most of your fixing of things is done by partnering with other PMTs.

After working multiple work centers in different stores, I'd say the answer to this is completely dependant on the quality of your management at any particular time, which is a revolving door by design.

I thought being a brand TM on the sales floor was my easiest position, though, because you're pretty much the master of your domain and are generally left alone as long as you're getting what you need to done. But not all S/ETLs want to put money into that and so hours toward brand (if not the positions completely) come and go, and stress to still get everything done goes up accordingly.

Sadly this is 100% true. We still ONLY get commission on phones and a couple other items in the dept., like headphones and accessories. My store, we aren't even allowed to open up glass cases or video games and have to get Target involved for those transactions. I feel bad for the EE stores that have some kind of expectation to cover electronics but don't get commission for those items, and when they go to unlock a video game, they lose a phone sale.
