This is gonna be long so I apologize. So I am a cashier and I work with this girl that is in college. She has a major attitude problem. Anyway- the other day she was checking out a guest with a few transactions because she was couponing. I was cleaning up my register and not paying much attention when suddenly the guest is in my lane. I look back, the cashier is walking towards guest services, I assume to talk to the GSA. The guest informs me that that cashier has an attitude problem. 2 GSA's come up and are asking to see the coupons- which I accepted without blinking an eye. They coupons were fine and the guest finished her transactions with small totals because of her "extreme couponing" the guest continued to complain about the other cashier and I just stood there and didn't know what to do. After the guest leaves and I have no guests, neither does the other cashier. She starts talking to me about the lady- which I could care less about at this point. She's like "well I don't have time for people like that" and stuff. Apparently this cashier was "trained" that when people bring up small transactions with large amounts of coupons you are supposed to call the GSA or something, and that's how she got the attitude with the guest. At this point I'm just agreeing with the cashier even though in my head I'm shocked that she still cares about the guest who is long gone.
Today-
At our store we have "breakers" who take over the other cashiers lane while they take their breaks- and today it was me. I've noticed this in the past, but the same cashier I mentioned above usually takes waaaaaaaay too long of breaks. So today I got really frustrated when she was gone for 23 minutes on her 15 minute break, because I had other people to send on breaks and it ended up leaving me 5 minutes late clocking out, which wasn't a huge deal but still.
Anyway- I don't know if I should just let this girl be obnoxious and rude or if I should talk to someone about it. I don't wanna be "that" person but I also don't think that most of the things she does are right.

At the least, talk to the GSA/GSTL about her lengthy break.
I wouldn't bring up the other business unless asked by GSA/GSTL.

I think she needs to be told the correct way to deal with extreme couponers, whatever your store's rule is.
Me? I let people do several transactions in a row. These are usually moms trying to save money and Target makes money off of these coupons so it's all good. Be nice to people and they will return. 🙂
I would just mention everything to someone who gives a crap and see if things improve. Surely they don't want their guests leaving all huffy and stuff.
Maybe the gsa/gstls can just hover around her for awhile and correct her when stuff comes up.

I enjoy seeing people save money, so I'm super cool with extreme couponers. I'm thinking maybe this cashier just didn't want to deal with her because it was gonna take a bit longer? One of our GSA's I think is kinda friends with her, and they are close in age. I'll see if my favorite GSA (am I the only one with a favorite?) will have a second so I can talk to her about it...

The extended break is a major issue but you should be sure to have your ducks in a row.
Write down the number of times she has come back late and by how long.
You don't want to report something that is a general impression than find out she has excuses for it.
The attitude with guests on the other hand can be as simple as a bug in the right persons ear.
Gee, Ms. PainintheassCashier doesn't seem to vibe well and she isn't familiar with the current policy on giving away the store either.

I like a "just the facts" approach. I would tell the GSA/GSTL that you had a guest leave PITA's line and check out in your lane and the guest seemed really upset about the service they received from PITA. Also, that you ended up nearly ten minutes behind on the break schedule because PITA took a long 15. And that's all. Let the GSA/GSTL draw their own conclusions- no need to flesh it out any more than that.
