What would make a Store Director get fired?

Over the weekend, the Store Director “decided to leave the company.” Nobody knows why and all the ETLs were sent home that day. The store has a ETLs from neighboring stores covering on Saturday. The store leadership and process was bad but I don’t think a fireable reason. What reason, other than harassment, could cause for a SD to get fired?
 
Why would an SD get fired? Conflict of interest actions that places TARGET with a big T in the path of a potential lawsuit.
 
Conflict of interest could be um.. an SD who's brother is dating a TL . A TL who "repeatedly" crosses the line with TM s ...because they are "protected" via their relation to the SD.
 
Cooking the books.
There's fudging things to make metrics-like pulling priorities and staging them. Then, there is changing people's time cards to make payroll, overtime, or compliance. Misusing sick time or vacation time.

Harassment. In my experience, harassers just can't stop themselves, so there could have been some prior coaching (had an ETL taken out of the store in cuffs for that).

Ridiculous as it sounds for someone making 200k, violating purchase guidelines. Holding limited edition or street date in their office. Or clearance. Reselling things.

Flat out stealing.

And, if the store is chronically red, for performance.

ETLs aren't working Saturday, but are they working Wed, Thurs, Fri?

Is the SD sick? Were the ETLs sent home because they were upset? Is there a going away thing on Saturday and there is coverage so everyone can go? Did someone close to the SD die? Funeral Saturday?

Pulling priorities and staging them? Why would that be a fireable offense?
 
Once had an SD who offered overtime to the front end cru, most of them said hell yeah sign me up, then this bing bong cuts and pastes the OT into next week. Dude was then hotlined by HR who noticed said fuckery before the TMs themselves, and corp sent the goon squad to haul him back to HQ where he is still presumably hanging upside down by his ankles from a doorframe to this very day. The affected TMs received corrected checks reflecting the OT and everyone lived happily ever after.

Moral of the story: feel free to work all the OT you want because corporate doesn't care
 
One of mine got fired years ago. Anytime we were getting a visit and there was clutter she would throw it away. Boats of stuff not pushed. Shelves, signing stuff……. Someone told on her.
Are you saying she threw away actual merchandise? 😯 😬
 
Stealing to cover gambling debts, getting your store keys stolen over gambling debts, making pornos on the salesfloor with your mistress (not your wife, she just found the video on the net), punching a TM in the face, throwing all the salvage in the compactor because they didn;y want to box it up, treating your employees like trash while sleeping with the DSD who then got fired themselves... but that's just my store. Your guys answers are correct too...

Damn, and I thought my store was bad. I kinda believe SD would be sleeping with DSD since they buddy-buddy and go on some trips together

Wow that's crazy! When one of my old Sears store managers tried getting rid of the inordinate amount of clearance clothing we had one time, at least she had it all packed up and was sending it Return to Vendor, not throwing it away. Same result though, the RTV guy ratted her out and she got fired.
 
Oooo that spunds like more than the SD was involved in whatecer lead to that mesa. Wouldnr be surpriaed if your etls vanished to. They can be termed for not reporting ethics violation and oe being involced in it. Fun times for the gossip chain ahead
