The other day I was supposed to leave at 1pm however I was with one of my TL's and she wanted me to update her on a task she had given me before I left for the day, long story short I ended up punching out nearly 20 minutes after my shift was supposed to end... I tend to overthink everything and im hoping this doesn't end up in some sort of coaching...

Depends on how strict your store is with payroll, if push comes to shove just explain what happened and say it won't happen again.

You're screwed. Done for. Gonzo. Fired. Shitcanned. Out the door. Taken out to the farm to have space to run around. Terminated. 86'd. You'll be shipped out with the salvage on the next truck.

Nah. We don't know. Depends on the store and how tight they are on payroll this week.

The worst that will happen is that they ask you to cut that time if you are a full 40hrs this week to avoid OT..

i notoriously never clock out on time. no one knows how to assist (or wants to) guests with photo, so i’ll get stuck over there. i hop on the back up at guest service real quick and get stuck. as long as i don’t hit compliance or hit OT or go excessively over my shift end time, i don’t worry. no one has said anything to me, yet and i’ve been here for two years.

There is no such thing as clocking out on time at my store. I usually stay 15-25 minutes after my shift ends every day because I. Can't. Effing. Leave. Like seriously, do the guests all know when I'm trying to clock out and they all choose that time to swarm the Service Desk?

Bottom line is, you should be alright. As long as you don't go into compliance, or get overtime, it's no big deal. If push comes to shove, your leadership will either have you take a longer lunch, leave early, or come in late.

If it comes up on a report, your TL is your witness and can vouch for your staying late.

If you are hitting overtime, you will be coached or written up.

As long as you don't leave late everyday, you are fine.

Worst case scenario is you take a longer lunch... Yesterday I stayed 15 minutes late. Today I’ll take a 46 minute lunch. No one will notice.

I got a compliance for my meal yesterday. Does this pretty much mean I’m out after seasonal time? I perform very well.

The TL you were with should have gotten an alert that you were close to hitting compliance.

Good possibility you won't be staying.

Hey you seem like you know your stuff quick questions..
do I put the spider webs and cases after they are removed in the same compartment with the clothes hangers or with the items that the guests didn’t want to purchase? Where do I put the gift cards that are all used up and the guest doesn’t want it anymore cuz there isn’t a trash can at the registers.

How do you sell REDcards? Like not the talking part but how do I actually do it? Do I scan the pamphlet before I press total or after? And what happens after I scan it? I know they have to fill in some stuff and give me a voided check or whatever that means. Which direction do I put the check into the machine? If I put it in the wrong way will it not accept it? Can you just briefly describe the signing up process.

Spider webs (wraps is what we call them) do not go with hangers, you should have a separate compartment just for them, you should have a place for trash usually under the register.
It's been a hot minute but when you scan the pamphlet you will be given the chance to continue scanning all their items before the process is through. Put the check in face down with the endorsement line toward the screen (maybe away I don't remember). If you put it in wrong it shouldn't work. Just take your time and be cool and stay clear headed.
If all else fails don't be afraid to ask for help from those more experienced instore, better to ask and get it right than fuck it up.

ASANTS: The spider wraps go in the bin with the other returns and should the be sorted into electronics reshop. Used gift cards can go in the coupon drawer or be put on the other side of the register that new gift cards are kept.

When you get a Redcard, ring up all of the guest's items. Then, hit suspend transaction to start a new transaction. Next scan the Redcard booklet and hand it to the guest. Go through the sign up process with the guest to get them their temp red card. Scan the suspended transaction slip. Hit total. Scan the temp Redcard slip. Done. It's important to suspend the transaction before signing the guest up for a Redcard otherwise they won't be able to use the card on that transaction.

Thank you! Do we have to shorten the spider wraps before we put it in the bin or just place it as is? And same goes for the video game security cases, do we have to close them back up?

Again ASANTS, but shorten the spider wraps. Good thing to do while the guest's credit card transaction is processing. Give them some leeway though. About an inch of webbing should be left. Don't lock them so that inbounds and hardlines TM's can use them while stocking without having to grab electronics keys. Don't ever not shorten them because they get tangled up and it's a pain in the ass to untangle them. Close the security cases, but again don't bother locking them.
