    Destroy vs donate

Sorry if this is off topic, but maybe it's close enough. Was defecting a 4-pack of protein shakes the other day (it came out of the case as a 3-pack with one missing - weird). The sticker printed for ESIM instead of donate like it would for the protein bars or chips. It's still a food product...

MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

Oy. I think the TM who assembles bikes has a mallet in his toolbox. I'll ask him if I can borrow it the next time I have time to wrangle those things.

MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

Is there a trick to attaching the plastic label strip with the header to the shelf? This is the kind that holds the regular label strip in the usual place plus a strip across the top. Was trying to get the ones attached to the Smoker's Health POG (really late, but it's been low on the list of...

To That One Guest - II

TTOG: No, lady, we are not Amazon. If you tell me one more time that you can "get anything on Amazon," I might just scream. They have an entirely different business model and they don't treat their employees or their third-party sellers all that well. Maybe next time don't wait until the last...

TTOTM at our DC: Are you trying to make my job harder? Because if you are, you're succeeding! Got a repack box today that must have been the victim of something heavy falling on it. The repack box itself was pretty smashed as were a lot of boxes inside it. To make things even worse, a bottle of...

    Insta post. Check it out

Are we sure that the mess wasn't the result of a group of, I'm suspecting, teenagers who sort of went on a rampage? I'm having a hard time believing that a store could look that messed up with any kind of frequency. My store's Style dept isn't usually what I'd call neat and tidy all the time...

Our store music not the most family friendly at times.

This is one reason I so glad my store doesn't have music.

Tear up the store I guess

Amen. And teach your teenagers that spraying shaving cream around, leaving a bunch of rugs on the floor, bouncing balls all around the store, etc. don't count as acceptable activities. And especially that stealing is always just plain wrong. Also, to add a new mini-gripe of mine, what's with...

    Cicadas

Are some of what you're seeing the shed exoskeletons? Saw a picture on the internet of what people are making out of them. I'm all for repurposing things others would discard, but ew, those creations looked creepy.

    Cicadas

Lots of mosquitos in my state. Didn't know Alaska was warm enough for long enough to breed mosquitos, but I've since looked it up and learned otherwise. Those boogers adapt every which way they can.

A Target in my city has a supermarket next to it

Probably has a lot to do with who was where first and contracts or leases negotiated when a new business arrived. My store is next door to an Aldi and very close to a Meijer store. (Not a shared parking lot but within easy walking distance.) All three sell produce and fresh meat products.

    MEGATHREAD myDay app

Wish the chat bot in the "support" function was more helpful. The DC keeps sending me cases of a certain kind of Listerine. I have MANY cases back stocked and it's not eligible to be sent back because of the alcohol content. I did one My Support case already, confirming on hand count and...

    Cicadas

I'm not in the zone but recently learned something new about a friend of many years. She's a self-professed "bug nerd" and traveled to the zone where both broods have emerged to revel in all the cicada-ness going on there. Happens that the university they both attended is in the zone, so they...

Are the self-checkouts at your store "ten items or less." now?

Yes. Although I was pleased to note that the sign at my store says "10 items or fewer." Which I guess reveals that I'm a grammar nerd who gets just a little irked every time I see a "10 items or less" at other places.

    Team Voice Survey

Years ago, one of the TLs at my store let slip something about a high negative score in a certain area that was directly attributable to that TL and that she couldn't understand what the problem was. Well. I didn't feel like I had a lot to lose (really disliked my TL at the time), so I took a...

Honestly, who in their right mind thinks this kind of behavior is okay in any universe? And not only okay but somehow, I don't know, funny? It's vile and gross and, wow, I don't even have sufficient words for it. My dog behaves better than that.

    Backroom Accuracy Indicator (BAI)

My store never got those. Good thing, from what I've read about them.

    Backroom Accuracy Indicator (BAI)

I used to be able to do this, even with my OTC wacos, until my back room space was reconfigured to what corporate wants. That took away a bunch of wacos so the bottom shelves could be closed case, which rarely gets used for that purpose for OTC product. I still use the space because I can't...

    Technology wishlist

Seems to be an issue for anything with more than one location. And of course whoever pushes the pulls done late in the day doesn't check for dual locations.

    Technology wishlist

I've heard the same thing and would probably use one myself (I have small hands) but they're so glitchy that it's not worth the frustration.
