Archived I suck at my new job HELP!!!

I was always intimidated about asking BR to help with pulling items and then someone showed me how I could pull them myself and that's easier for me. It's worth asking if you'd feel more empowered being able to do it yourself instead of having to ask everytime.

Archived The "Vent about all the crazy shit that happened during your shift" thread

I'm seasonal hardlines but ended up cashiering last night for about 2.5 hours straight - came for backup but lines stayed long and I never got off. So while I'm up there, one of our AP guys (not sure of different roles, but he wears the blue shirt) comes to me to checkout. He's still wearing...

    Archived Jone's Nuka Cola Quantum

Yes, per the ad it states that you only get it when you buy the Xbox ONE or PS4 game or the season pass. Bummer - my son wants the PC game.

Archived Are you working Christmas Eve?

I'm scheduled Christmas Eve 7-11:30 PM. I'm off the day after. I'm seasonal and really want to quit, and feel like my 20-25 hours could be easily absorbed within the existing team, but I hate to do it before Christmas. Do you think it would be a big deal to lose a TM at Christmas?

Archived Do I just have to check mytime daily??? changes!

I've had the opposite. I've been scheduled over my max hours (availability) consistently when the new schedule comes out. I've asked my ETL-HR to change it but the changes are only reflected online. The paper schedule is never updated. I've always gone by the online schedule.

    Archived Need advice - schedule

Same thing with me - every single schedule has had me at 25+ hours even though my max availability is 20. I don't think they check or even seem to remember. Just keep pushing back.

    Archived Those "hot" items.

I hadn't seen BeatBo yet but just stocked three from a pull last night. Also last night was my first shift I was never asked about Star Shower. I've yet to ever see one in store or on the shelf in the 5 weeks or so I've been at Spot.

Archived My first day was bad!

I agree with most of what's been said. I'll admit as a new seasonal hire, I was not one to take initiative and say hello to everyone else. At that point, I had little idea about who was who, who else was new, etc. and it was a little intimidating. Give it a few days and I'm sure it will get...

    Archived Need advice - schedule

I hope they work it out for you and then remember it for future schedules. I've battled this as well. I'm seasonal and don't intend to stay on after the holidays but was hired with availability of evenings and weekends but max of 20 hours per week (because it's in addition to a 40-hour 'day'...

Archived Being Scheduled Outside of Availability

I agree. It is not your problem. I was hired as seasonal hardlines TM and as this is a second job for me, I listed my max hours per week as 20 hours. For Thanksgiving/BF week they scheduled me 34 hours. I honestly didn't mind because pay was good AND I was off for several days from my 'day...

    Archived Seasonal "help"

I'm seasonal SF and had 1 cashier training shift, then about three SF 'shadowing' training shifts. I've been on my own since then. I figure I'm doing something right if they're calling me on days off asking if I want to work extra shifts and scheduling me pretty heavy in the next few weeks...

Archived Is this accurate - eight hours between shifts?

I know I've ready it somewhere on the boards before that shifts must have 8 hours between. Can anyone confirm this is accurate information taken from spot employee documents? I don't have my folder with my documents on me today but just checked my schedule. I'm scheduled for 5:00 - 11:45 PM...

    Archived Black Friday Walkout

Just my two cents - I'm a mom, have a full time 'day job' and applied to work seasonal at Target so I can provide a good Christmas to my kids. Here's how my week looks: Tuesday: 7-4 at 'day job' then target until 11:00 Wednesday: 7-4 at 'day job' then target 7 until 1 AM Thursday: cook...

    Archived Black Thursday 2015

I interviewed last week for seasonal and have orientation tomorrow. During the interview they asked availability for specific dates, including Thanksgiving. I was asked if I was available starting at 6 PM on Thanksgiving. Maybe they were asking that simply because that was the time from last...
