OK, I need ideas for fun stuff on the cash lanes. Prizes? Games? Competitions? In the past, we've bowled with turkeys, dressed ETLs, get prize envelopes for every redcard. Anybody got any new ideas?

My store is doing one where anyone who gets a REDcard gets to hold on to a small little turkey, stuffed animal of something. And as long as no one else gets a RC before your shifts ends you get to claim a prize, but if someone else gets a RC, the turkey goes to them and on and on.

we are giving away a tablet, iPod touch, giftcards, and who knows what else i'll come up for redcards.. The team loves it.
So is it based on who gets the most RCs or is there a drawing for the tablet/iPod/big ticket items?

We're having a progressive game over this week and next. For every RC, you get a feather on your turkey. If you get x number of feathers, you get a whole turkey to cook for Thanksgiving. Of course, we started the game before we knew who was gonna get to cook Thanksgiving dinner. Oh well.

Our feathers are good for Christmas Eve and the 26th off. I think it's the first person to fill theirs gets that... I tried to give my feathers away to peeps that won't get a full one. No dice.

I still have 3 drawings from the October prize bucket I never got to use. Apparently not being scheduled the 30-31st meant I was SOL. I'm pissed about that one.

I remember showing up and working 8-10 hours

as a cashier...and being told to ask every guest for a RC.

as salesfloor...and stand your ground handing guests door busters or answering their crazy questions. So avoid Toys and Electronics. Then its a never ending battle of trying to recover a small area while trying to maintain reshop.

My store is giving something for the first to get a certain amount. There's a sign explaining the details. It made me feel bad for the person that came up with it. Like they were really trying, but only had so much to work with. I'm kind of a softie.

Ugh I have been planning games for weeks. I am so gamed out. Just smile pretty and get redcards. I'm tired of games.
I need to think of small prizes to hand out too. Anyone have any ideas for things inexpensive that I can offer instead of a piece of candy? Even if we don't win a big prize we give out something small to everyone who gets a redcard. I think that's nice. But what do I give to the people who get nothing.?

A coaching?

Years ago my store had a contest for something ( don't remember what it was...but I do knowi t wasn't for Red Cards) the winner got to make his or her own schedule for the following week...only rule was no overtime.
