Now hear me out first. Theres no TL in my store. Like- everyone in charge is an ETL. don't know man. I looked at the leadership and everyone but the closing TL is like... an ETL. The guy im crushing on just recently got promoted to ETL. im currently working to be a TL when the position comes up. I heard them talking about it. Besides the point, i was wondering if itd be too risky to date an ETL

Hes NOT over my department. I occasionally work with him but im mid shift and hes morning to mid after noon. I typically stay late so i only work 4 hours with him usually. Ive gotten quite a crush and ppl have been encouraging me to ask him out to hang out. I am NOT a loud confident person. The last thing id do is make it obvious that we would be dating. Work is work. Im not here to flirt. So thats also why im hesitant. Yk the saying. But i also dont wish to work here forever too. Why miss an opportunity if itll be good? Advice or thoughts? I just like hearing opinions

An ETL is essentially an SD who hadn’t been assigned a store 🏬 yet. Just because this ETL isn’t in your department, at any point in time during your time at Target 🎯, he “could” have something to do with your department. With that said, I’d personally recommend looking elsewhere. Never 👎🏾 a good idea to date someone who you work with only for the main fact that both of you aren’t on the same level. Plenty of eligible people OUTSIDE of Target. Worklife balance. Go out and live life.

Good idea, no. Mixing business and personal is never a smart idea. However, what does policy say. You can't date someone you report to. Not this can look different bc ASANTS. This has happened a lot and we just typically transfer someone out to another store and keep one in house. Issue resolved and you can still date. Just let HR know if you start dating so they can do the transfer. I just would wait until your past hanging out and more of a thing before letting HR know.

You already told the store you have a crush on him, be more discreet next time/going forward.
Failure to adhere to this will result in further conversations, CAs and/or termination.
