This. If they don't use it at all for so long, they get timed out. Plus, like supertargetwi said, some GSTL/GSAs don't carry the PDA even though best practice dictates that they should.

If Gstl doesn't do anything on the pda for too long it can sign you out. It's a good idea to at least refresh alerts once in a while if its slow

At my store, the GSTL/GSA always has a PDA (our ETLs are adamant about this) unless we're short on PDAs when the Food Ave TL needs to do her order - meaning about 98.6% of the time. It's more a matter of whether or not they feel like carrying it around. When a certain GSA is on, it just sits on Lane 1 and doesn't get used.

During my GSA stint, I always had my PDA & would fight tooth & nail to keep it.
I kept logged on to check sales, alerts, change reqs, NOP price checks, OH qty of other stores, you name it.
