I think almost all the generators are natural gas-powered. That way, it can as long as the power outage lasts (as long as it isnt an earthquake that interrupts gas service) and Target never has to worry about keeping fuel for it stocked.

I don't know about the fuel for the load shedding ones, but on the hot days when everyone is using A/C and electric rates are higher, Target saves a bunch of money by using it

Our SFT fires our generator up for 20 minutes every month just to maintain his logs that everything is working.
