Changes to dress code

I've heard nothing about this and only found out because of a news alert on my phone. Most TMs and TLs at my store just wear vests on top of whatever they're wearing and nobody says anything. However, this would explain why all the vests are magically disappearing...glad I didn't get rid of all my Target shirts! Though many of them have the Target logo, my store's number or something else (I have a vintage polo that says "fast, fun and friendly" with a stitch of bullseye on it, for example) so are those no longer permitted if this rumor is true?

Anything that is Target logo branded is still acceptable as long as it is red.

I don't know how they're going to keep leadership's interest in enforcing the "bright red" rule on a population that can't even push a towel aisle correctly, but OK.

I'll continue wearing my wines and rubies until they start walking around holding a swatch up to our shirts.
I just saw an article on line that said Target will be giving team members one red shirt and 50% off blue jeans. Also, corporate is going to now start offering 20% off all store brand clothes. I don't know when this will happen. Maybe this summer.

Sad that TMs can't get work clothes at stores anymore. I hope Cart Attendants are the exception for shorts.

Tractor Supply has Blue Mtn & Ridgecut jeans and khakis (store brands) that are pretty reasonable, and solid color work shirts.

I have looked at Temu and Amazon before for cheap clothes. Looked at getting 1-2 sizes bigger.
I work drive up and I live in Louisiana lots of heat and humidity. If I can’t wear shorts then I will quit.

Like I said, only new tm s are getting t shirts at my store. Of course there s a pile of about 50 shirts and when I asked for one that s what I was told “only new tm s” , then next day here comes a notnew tm out to the floor with one of those t shirts. Typical.

I'm not a TL, but I can tell you from experience that TL's that are in the back room or at the front end (who very often work drive up in addition to being in one of the most uncomfortably hot areas in our store) should be allowed to wear shorts. "Leaning into professionalism" is a crock of sh*t. Not sweating or stinking all over a guest or merchandise would be a better way to do that. I hope they rethink this part.

Also, this implies that non-team leads are NOT considered professionals. ? They are just poor peasants there to do the grunt work.
