Changes to dress code

I've heard conflicting information about vests being allowed or not. Honestly I think it's a huge accessibility issue. Esp for people who work in market/drive up like me who need to stay warm. At least at my store, they're incredibly stingy with free shirts and I've never gotten a hoodie or anything.
I have noticed that our freezer guy often gets target merchandise like the tie dye hoodie or a solid red hoodie which looks like really good quality . I wish they gave all market tms one . I’m sure there will be some kind of exceptions for the cart attendants and drive up TMs .

It's all bullshit, just follow the store rules and keep your mouth shut. You can't fight it, you'll just dig yourself in deeper and deeper into the cavern of stupid. Stay on managements good side, they can make life hell for you at Target.

Why would you risk your job over a shirt. Technically it’s stealing. Technically you could get fired for stealing. They haven’t said anything yet doesn’t mean they never will.
I honestly don't think it would be a problem unless they were looking to get rid of you for other reasons. I know this is done all the time in my store. And yes, new and old team members walk around with the new shirts on. Although each store is different in their rules, I would challenge those in authority by pointing out others have them that are long term employees if this were the case. Whenever I've asked other team members how they got the new shirts I've been told they are in hr office in a box and team members are just going in and getting one or two. No hr etl has ever challenged anyone that I am aware of. That sort of thing gets around if they do.

We were told at my store that the policy at least there will start in May... So who knows. I usually wear blue jeans and a red dri-fit polo or tshirt everyday so I don't see it being a problem

afaik those tie dye hoodies and other things are only able to be purchased on the bullseye website and theyre not cheap! definitely not something that should be expected of a team member.

Our local Planet Fitness gym looks like a prison exercise yard with all the tats on members. Does Target have any tat limitations?
What? Tatoos have nothing to do with dress code. But there are no limitations that I know of.

Maybe offensive tats like a naked person or racist themes?

Got a red tshirt and 50% off Target owned jeans coupon today . I tried using it for a universal thread brand jeans and it’s showing only 20% off 😒🙄. Isn’t it a Target owned brand ? Did anyone try using that coupon ?

I didn’t get the coupon. Was it in the app or is it a paper coupon. Is it not valid yet? I didn’t think we were getting them until closer to the dress code start date.

I was told we will be getting a discount on the bullseye shop stuff. Not sure when the discount start or how much it will be.

Everyone in store must attend an in class training lead by SD and HR etl which was almost 30 min for us . They call TMs in small groups to attend it . It’s mainly about Target’s new guest experience expectations which includes consistent dress code . Paper coupon was given which has expiry date of December 2026. My SD said it’s suppose to be during July and then they sent all these things now itself and were asked to finish everyone’s training in two weeks .

Not related but how are sales in general? My go-to Target is busy all the time, several colleges nearby. Expensive schools, the kids have money to spend and they do.

I'm very indifferent on the changes. I've worked here for 20 years and I have a closet full of regulation target red shirts. At least I can keep my khaki shorts. It gets very toasty in receiving in the summers here.

I'll miss my vest, but I'll deal with it.

In yesterday’s training , they said vests are still OK . But our SD told he is not sure if the clothing underneath the vest should be red or not . He said to keep this change in mind and hopefully it will come into effect by July and we get more clarity on that .

Last we were told, shirts under the vest didn't have to be red but couldn't have graphics on them. So you can bet lots of TMs at my store are wearing all their shirts that will no longer be acceptable come July.

The training presentation mentioned that the bullseye shop will make some basic clothing like tshirts and all available for less price and free shipping for TMs . I just checked and the cheapest one is a red tshirt with Target written across around $9.50.
