How do you read a Target receipt, specifically the numbers after “REC#” at the bottom? I’ve figured out that the third set of numbers represents the store number, but I’m curious about the meaning of the other sets before and after it. Are they tied to the register, transaction sequence, employee or something else? I’d really appreciate any insight just curious as start to train at the front of store.

Thank You!

18 digits long. first digit on left can training, suspended or speed id. 16 digits is transaction with your store number in it. last one on the right is original or gift receipt.
