So today I worked almost 12 hours and i started my shift in the morning and clocked out on time but for the second half of my shift I went over 6 hours by a few minutes. I was wondering if there is a policy about the second lunch and if I am in trouble for going over the 6 hours. Btw i’m still in my 90 days so I am very scared for my job. Also im not deflecting the blame it was 100% on me but none of my team leads or the store directors warned me about taking a 30 for the second break so that makes me think that there may not be a policy abt the second break? (chat gpt said this was a possiblity)

Yeah if you worked over 6 hours (5 in some states) without a meal you will get flagged by the system for meal compliance. It is down to the second if you are over it will show it. Now most likely they will talk to you about it make you sign a little booklet and tell you to be more careful. Its more about doing whats required by the state so they dont get fined amd less about you getting in actual trouble for the violation. If it becomes a common occurrence then you will get in trouble, and probably.let go because the fines are pretty big.
