Corporate Does Target truly care?

No, wrong yet again and again. Referencing male TL's and female TL's. Very poor ones both genders. I can't put in more simple terms. We're not simplifying quadratic equations, go back and read it again (then again).

Perhaps you could improve your communication skills by expressing your thoughts in full sentences.

Before Greg Steinhaufel. Brian was after. Greg ruined the financials with Canada and target never recovered.

I’ve worked for Target so long I remember when JCPenneys almost bought Target…when Daytons and Marshall fields were still in business. Expense rate 98 started the cost cutting so no company or Penney’s would ever happen again.

Bob Ulrich was the best CEO.
Yes, Greg did run financials into the ground. I recall my STL leaving Target for Canada, she sold everything here (her spouse was a dentist so he even closed shop) and literally overnight the Canada operations were gone. I always wondered if I could have supported my spouse and moved to a different county if I was an established professional with a brick and mortar building and well liked in the local area. To each their own...

IIRC dudes Golden Parachute™ cost more than the payout for all of Target Canada.

IIRC, after the stores shut down Target had to pay unemployment wages for all the Canadian TMs who lost their jobs (ALL of them) as part of a Canadian labor law. All of the buildings (former Zellers stores) were sold, what little merch that was left had been sent back to the US.
Pretty dismal failure all around.

What happened with the Canada Target anyway?
It abruptly shut down shortly after Cornell took over as
CEO. Its problems have been discussed numerous times but the biggest issue was inventory. Target didn’t do its research to figure out how hard it would be to get product from D.C. to stores so the locations were full of empty shelves from the moment they opened. Also, Target took over the Zellers chain and assumed all their leases without carefully looking to see each locations individual financial performance and geographical area. In short, it was over expanding too quickly without doing the proper research.

It all depends on how much of the corporate kool-aid your management drinks. We had an awesome STL once, who actually listened to your needs and desires and tried to be accommodating. Morale was high and sales were booming.

She got a promotion and worked as a regional director or something like that. Which I’m glad for her, but the one who took her place was horrible. She had very little flexibility when it came to changing availability or asking for weekends off. And when it came to hours, which I know they’re given a certain payroll and have little control over, she would actually ask team members to change their desired hours survey to a lower number if they weren’t able to honor it. Which is shady AF.

There was a tsunami of resignations after she took over. We all started to feel like cogs in a machine. And of course, the more people who quit, the more responsibility each of us took on, which made us feel overworked. And we weren’t able to provide nearly the level of guest service we used to be able to because there were fewer of us to help. So sales started declining, and we were starting to miss goal most days of the week.

When used by an outsider the term you used referring to Canadians is derogatory and offensive. I won't repeat it.

The company, as far as from an employee's perspective, went downhill when Brian Cornell started. He made the shareholders happy but almost all changes have been made to the detriment of employees just look at turnover. I'd like people to chime in if they feel differently and worked at Target pre Brian Cornell or as he says BC. Most I have spoken to say that they agree.
I’ve been thinking about the recent DEI choice Target made and how poorly it was executed. We have now alienated another group of guests and sales, stocks, and traffic are down thanks to the choices made by Corporate. How long do you thing BC will stay in place?
