Donate vs destroy

Remove food product when 60 days out is not right. There has to be some misunderstanding. Expired is the day of. I can see maybe a few days early it's a slow seller. Could it had been from endcap change and there's so much left no one wanted to backstock it?
By the time it gets shipped to the store someone buys it… it has a month in their pantry before it expires

Not true dry good should be donated up to a year past expiration. Fresh food should not be donated past expiration unless the meat was already frozen prior
Idk about you. Most food donations won't take expired food. They will throw it away instead of giving it away.

Perhaps this is dependent on what state you live in. In my state, undamaged dry goods can be accepted up to a year after the printed expiration date.

There are some products like baking mixes that might not turn out as intended. And some things like cereal might go stale. But they're not going to hurt anyone. As long as the packaging is intact and a canned good isn't dented or bulging at the ends, I'll use it. Or I'd at least open it - there have been a couple of times a can has "burped" when I first put the can opener blade in and that's a bad sign.

Never had an issue with it. Maybe its different for different areas but most non perishable foods can last a long time. Only instance is use by dates but thats normally on fresh perishable foods that are in the coolers rather then non perishable dry goods. I make sure its a good quality item before donating. Best practice is up to a year past expiration at target. Id rather give it to the donation people to decide unless I know there is something obviously wrong with it.
