We have space for the bubble wrap underneath the packing station. It's suspended on a rod like a roll of TP so it's easy to unroll.
Also, I think this holiday season is going to be an absolute nightmare for SFS , at least at our store. We're going up to 750 orders soon, and shooting up to 1500 not long after that and boy are we not prepared. Apparently we're hiring 30 seasonal TM's dedicated for SFS, which is pretty insane. We're gonna be scheduled in 3 shifts, so we'll be a 24 hour operation. We currently have 4 packing stations, and it seems like the plan is to have 2 people to a packing station (we have 4 stations) during almost all hours of the day, with 1 person dedicated to clearing the belt, one person to move the pallets over to the trailer, and another to load the trailer while the remaining people are picking. That all sounds good, but I don't even think that we'll have enough space to handle it all. Furniture makes up a good chunk of our orders, and I don't see any way that we'll be able to even fit that amount of furniture in our SFS area. If we have to try and find space for 300-400+ pieces of furniture, the entire system will break down.
Since our SFS area is near receiving and the unloading dock, I'm afraid that all of the SFS overflow is going to hurt the overnight team too which will then cascade into absolute mayhem throughout the store. Right now, our FFTL is worried that a daily 54 foot trailer from UPS won't even be enough to handle the amount of orders we'll be taking in. Even now at 325 orders, we have a daily trailer with UPS (not nearly as large, of course, but it's definitely not 4.5 times smaller than a 54 foot trailer) so he's thinking that we might actually need to arrange to have two trailers picked up each day. A 54 ft trailer during the day, picked up around 5-6pm, which would then be replaced by a smaller trailer for the orders packed during the overnight shift. That trailer would get picked up in the morning and replaced with the 54 footer.
