Ours got turned on today and from what I was told by the GSTL it was quite a mess.
TMs who forgot the training from 2 months ago, Guests getting upset that they couldn't just swipe their card, Guests who didn't like having to leave the card in the reader, guests who had no clue what there pin was, Transactions taking twice as long and as such causing most of the salesfloor TMs to spend the majority of their day backing up.... Never been so glad to be in one of the few posts where I couldn't back up.
It takes longer to think through all transactions now. Redcard savings doesn't show till right before the receipt prints, not right after total like before.
Wait. Are the RedCard's chip enabled now?
Hah, ours was just the opposite. Didn't let them swipe cards-although not sure if it was guest side or cashier side swiping...What's really weird is the readers at Starbucks are active and work fine... but no where else.
Did Starbucks have some rules about it?
Did anyone else feel like the training for this was utterly pointless? I didn't learn anything new that I didn't already know by just making transactions at places that are chip enabled. So how do receipt look ups work for this? Can we still swipe the cards like normal? Or do the guests insert them? Also, how exactly does this prevent unauthorized use of cards? Do we have to check for IDs now? I was told the guests will be able to swipe their IDs for age restricted items now. So we don't have to take their ID's we just look at them.
