And another store would have the DTL's contact info, even if they didn't have your store's ETL/STL contact info.

But if the DTL chose to do nothing, well. Clearly there's no reason for the store leadership to change anything, as clearly they won't be held accountable for not knowing when they fucking work (unlike a TM who would be CA'd and/or fired for the same thing).

An ETL at another store has many more resources (like access to phone numbers) than a TM from the flow team.

You are scheduled at a time and the store isn't open within a half hour, you call for help.

So the onus is on the TM who showed up on time to google search another Target store for the phone number, call that store, talk to the LOD and explain that your store needs to be opened?

I don't think so. That wouldn't even have crossed my mind.

If no LOD number is available I'd say that you should call the local police department......they'd have a number.
Don't have the local non-emergency number? Well....call 9-1-1.
If the police don't have a contact number....nobody does......then let the DTL try to ignore the problem!

I doubt the police have a contact number for an LOD at Target.. maybe AP, but doubt an LOD. Police probably wouldn’t wanna deal with that shot anyways

Haha an anonymous 911 call would be funny though...

If I were a TM in that position I’d probably be googling target corporate numbers to try to find someone who could tell us what to do, then maybeee think to call the next store over for advice (or just take a nap in my car...). Tough to say. And I’m interested to hear how they “correct” your punches for the shifts with late LODs...

This maybe a little far fetched, with Very Bad weather, isn’t there an emergency number to call? Team Member Service Center (TMSC) for short? @HRZone, @HRLady, that’s not discussed in orientation anymore? I remember they specifically covered that to prevent such instances as people having to wait in their cars, etc. ijs

Umm etls of a store do not have contact information of etls of another store.

What? It'd be weird if ETLs didn't know anyone at other stores. Most ETLs have very likely worked in more than one store in the same district, and made contacts there before moving on.

Not true. Number one reason for this is to give one another warning when a visitor is in the area.

Can confirm; we do this in AP as well. (also for theft/safety alerts, etc, of course) It's pretty common for us to have the numbers of people or contacts in pretty much every other store in the area.

Then sit outside until someone shows up, even if it takes your whole shift. You don’t get to bitch about sitting in the cold while doing nothing to get the store open.

Yes the is. But, not every store keeps it to date. See below.

That's flat out wrong, when I was a TM and relativity new I had ETL numbers for at least 2 other stores. ETLs will usually have at least 4+ other stores in their district and with district realignment probably the neighboring district and there is often an STL district group chat and/or email that can send out a SOS message.

Correct.

Number one step should be to call your closest store. Their LOD has all kinds of contacts and can get someone to your store to open it.

I get the sentiment "that's not my job," but if you want it to stop happening letting someone know is probably a good place to start.

One of my old ETLs was always late and no one would have known if not for the steady stream of punch corrections when he was elod

I always thought we were supposed to/could call Alert One if the opening LOD was extremely late.

The worst they could tell you is they don't handle that but might be able to point you to who could. No idea when trying to figure something out is a bad one. But I couldn't tell you one person I know who actually has Alert one numbers on them.

i cant understand how this happens? at my store the latest someone waits for a late LOD is 15 minutes. Usually the other ETL's or key carriers start to trickle in, or if its 4am usually logistics etl or key carrier are in also. My store usually has a case of the LOD showing up late and the rest of the ETL's "tag your it" as LOD till they show up.

At a low volume store this can be a huge challenge. For example at my old store on Thursdays no one is early except the etl log. No lod comes until the etl hr at 10 who closed the night before
