Sales Floor Let's meet in the Middle; an Electronics/Tech thread

Check to see if the item is on circle before doing price match. Tell the guest they cannot get circle discount with price match. Call a leader if they complain. When I used to work service desk I had no problem telling guest this! Leaders generally backed me up.
If they only have their Target Wallet to pay you cannot stop them from applying circle deals because it's done automatically. If the price match is better than the circle deal you basically have to tell them that they will need to pay the worse price or not purchase the item at all.

You ask them if they have another way to pay. you can deny the price match if you know the item is on circle and the guest is going to scan circle to pay. You have options.

I just noticed the other day the price match is limited to Target, Amazon, and Walmart.

I would have no issue denying the price match.

At my store we have all the expensive stuff locked in the back and I would have no qualms in putting in back.

I also think these guests scope out the electronics area beforehand and see if a regular TM is there or just one from another department too.

It’s simple scan the item the guest wants to price match with the device. Find out the Target circle price and the Amazon or Walmart price. Tell the guest which one is cheaper. If Amazon Walmart cheaper tell guest they cannot use circle with the price match.
yeah but the POS should be blocking it in this case.
for some reason it already blocks high value price matches (WITH NO ABILITY TO OVERRIDE!!)

New POS is nice but it doesn't leverage TLs at alllll.

If someone answers no to the question if they're getting cash carded, lock the POS until a TL logs in.
Sure if there is a price match that's like 90 percent off its normal price and the POS is saying no, have a TL be able to override it.

Great point.

I tried to change a price in the POS $0.80 but accidentally picked 80% and it was denied.

This is why when AI was suggested in one of the training videos I made sure to write a scathing reply in the comments section.

If I need to know something I can ask a Team Lead or ETL. I should not have to "be patient with the AI" to get my answer. I should not have to waste time training it - am I getting training money? No? Then f*** off with the AI crap. If I ask "where is aisle 25" or "how do I read the label" it's always going to be easier to ask somebody than to ask the ai and read through 10 tons of text that have nothing to do with what I asked it, what a label is, what the numbers mean, etc, THEN I get my answer.

On a side note I have noticed comments are not allowed on some of my training videos.

its something for HQ to do to say that they're "Helping" with.

I genuinely hate the push for AI in every. single. god. damn. tool.
No Microsoft I don't want an LLM for Power Apps.
No I don't want a chatbot

In some instances its actually really cool like this one Coding platform which has a chatbot on the side.

Essentially its there as a helper like "Whats the arguments for the replace function" and it explains it. It doesn't do the work for you, it just aids you.

Had a guest show me that the unlocked renewed iPhones we sell was locked to TracFone. It was out of the return window so I had no idea what to do other than to give them the Jeg & Sons customer support number.
