Is it possible and if so: how can I get hired on to work on the new store set up in Denton and continue to work at that store after the opening.
I have experience with both store set ups and many areas of retail.

Go to the website and see if they have posted job openings for this store yet. If there is any other stores in the area reach out the leaders may know if the new store is hiring yet.

Yes, that's how I started. At my store they had several hiring events near the store. At least 90% of the people hired were for the store but we did the setup. Built the shelves, unloaded the freight, set the shelves stocked the shelves. That was 14 years ago so it's most likely different now. But there was no team hired in for setup, we were all just hired for Target
