Archived Need advice - schedule

Same thing with me - every single schedule has had me at 25+ hours even though my max availability is 20. I don't think they check or even seem to remember. Just keep pushing back.

It's just annoying since they make us fill out stuff and waste break time doing so for them to just ignore it.

Last year I ran into this problem often. You have to nag them to death. One time I was told I was approved time off for a particular day, and I was told FOUR times that I would be taken off the schedule (it was verbally approved more than two weeks in advance). So the day I was supposed to have time off, I checked my schedule online and I was still scheduled to work. They were short one person, but I did everything I was supposed to do so the fault fell on them.

Yikes I've seen that a few times on here. I know they have alot of employees but they need to get their shit together really cause we all have lives and commitments outside of work.

In my store the tls and etls do their own edits. All hr does is print the first copy to distribute to be edited, and final copy to post.

Same but when the ETL has been told 8 times and still doesn't do anything I have to go to HR.

It kinda comes down to being hired under false pretenses since they ask availability at the interview and then hire you based on it , which is bizarre to me that they screw around with so many people's schedules

Curious... have you talked to your TL? I know ASANTS and all that but in my store it's actually TLs making the schedules. Then the ETL's go over them for edits and pass them on to HR for publishing and putting up on the board.

Yep over and over I have and all they say is make sure it's in the computer (which it has been since the day I was hired) . I've even asked LOD's what to do they say talk to her so that's why I finally went to HR because come on already. I even went in and did an update saying please follow my availability and it was approved and this was 3 schedules ago and it still isn't being followed

Have you actually double checked your availability in the computer? Or just assumed it is right?

We have a cashier who is complaining when she is scheduled more than 20 hours a week. On her application, she put 20-40. The hrtm told her to change it to 20 so it wouldn't pull her for more. The cashier can't be bothered to change it, so the hrtm isn't going to go through the extra trouble of pulling off the extra hours.

Yes numerous times I've checked. It's always been the same on the computer. 100 percent everything on my end has always been correct, where It needs to be, etc it's nothing of my wrong doing and never has been that's why it's been so frustrating that I'm a broken record with the same people every week.

I've always worked the hours they scheduled me (never had them adjust it just told them please next time follow my availability and they say yes.. Which means nothing clearly) so there is really no reason for them to keep doing this to me. Im doing alot of favors and all I'm asking is for them to please follow my availability since I have other commitments.

I even edited it (not the times just adding a note) and put please follow my availability and It was approved 3 weeks ago and still it's not followed.

I have never once had a shift that was within my availability in the month and a half I've been working there so I think I'm being very reasonable in going to HR about it at this point.

I don't see why 15-30 minutes past close matters tbh. Overnight shifts are one thing, but a half hour less sleep virtually never matters.

Not OP, but 15 minutes past my availability would mean I miss the last bus home. If I could stay 15 minutes longer consistently, I'd make that my availability. I refuse to make my availability on the assumption that someone will give me a ride (tm or otherwise), though. I did that at one point, then my mom's car was totaled. Before I cut my availability back, I once missed the bus and my phone was dead so I sat in McDonald's hoping for my mom to worry and then pick me up. It's a 24 hr McDonald's so I was fine, but my mom found her way to me, eventually.

I'm luckily being scheduled properly as of late, though. And my availability works with all changes to njtransit. #blessed.

Edit: before someone asks, I'm not blaming the dead phone and missed bus on anyone but me and my poor decisions.

They finally listened I think you guys, I saw the schedule for the week of Christmas lol FINALLY!!!!

Side note for Xmas how many hours do you have to work that week to qualify for getting paid on Christmas day... Thought I read somewhere you have to work a certain number of hours to get paid for Xmas day (could be wrong)

To qualify to be paid for Christmas, you have to either be a TL or have been with the company for a year and be averaging at least 29.5 hours.
