Becoming a different gender is not a disability
I didn't say it was. I'm saying it's atleast on the same spectrum as someone wanting to cut off a limb to feel "at home" in their body.
if you are going to come into this thread and try to use BID to make a point and make comments about “transabled” people you are just a fundamentally unserious person who shouldn’t be listened to

do some research. or don’t, i guess.
Please educate me on the difference between someone wanting to cut off a limb or become disabled to feel more comfortable in their body and someone who wants to change their gender to feel comfortable in their body. There is some correlation there and while not exactly the same it is similar enough. I am being wholely serious, if I'm so ignorant please tell me why.

Nope.
You are clearly sealioning here.
You already said you wouldn't change your mind no matter what anybody says to you, so I'm not going to try and educate you on anything because you are not serious about learning.
You will pick one line, one word, one concept, to argue with and ignore everything else I've said.
If that doesn't work, you will move the goalposts or come up with another hackneyed line filled with buzzwords that basically amount to trans people make me feel gross and you don't want them to exist.
Meanwhile trans porn is watched more in red states than anywhere else.
It's not worth the breath or the typing in this case.
The only reason I'm replying at this point is because there are people who need to know us old farts are not all useless bigots.
Also maybe, just maybe a few people will actually get some good information and use it to make up their minds.
So, nope not going explain anything.

Certain things should be criminalized. No one under the age of 18 should be allowed any type of puberty blockers, hormone blockers or surgery.

No one will ever convince me otherwise, once you are an adult do what you want.

puberty blockers are reversible and it takes years of therapy and consultations to get signed off for surgery, even with parental consent, so this is a non-issue.

like, do you think that in the AMERICAN health care system insurance agencies are just like, cutting blank fucking checks for top surgery? hell no. do you think most Americans can afford any major medical procedure out of pocket? i think the fuck not.

this is a bad faith argument to justify your disdain towards transgender people and it's gross

Good Bye GIF
wow there is a shit- ton of crazy in here… i’m out

I used to feel that way, because I thought things like Roe v Wade and other rights were solid. I never dreamed that a woman's right to choose would be threatened again, and I figured if I skipped an election or voted for candidates whose beliefs didn't always align with mine (because "we need a change" or whatever bullshit I told myself) most things would still be fine.

How naive I was. A woman's right to choose is gone in several states, and now they're coming for trans rights and making it illegal to be a drag queen, ffs. If we aren't diligent, what's next? Gay marriage, no-fault divorce, reinstituting legal segregation? A woman's right to vote?

The only way to ensure that all the rights we have fought for as a society remain intact is to vote for the candidates that will continue to protect those rights. Progress may be slow, but it sure as hell beats going backwards.
I'm scared that interracial couples and people with disabilities will be next.

Black history month in my store is featured in the middle of the store by active wear.

In my opinion there are only 2 sexes and it isn't ok to change your sex. But I respect your opinion and right to do what you want.
First of all: gender =/= sex.
Second: it has been proven repeatedly by science that there are more than two sexes or have you not heard of people who are intersex. There is also the discussion about what defines a person's sex because even what is assumed to be correct isn't always the case. Afterall, people with androgen insensitivity syndrome look outwardly female but are genetically male.
Third: Not everyone who is transgender gets surgery to change their bits and pieces downstairs. It's invasive, expensive and not everyone who is trans even wants to get that kind of surgery.
Fourth: There are plenty of people who are cisgender who get cosmetic procedures done below the belt. Why no outcry about that?

I guess if "ihateOPmodel" is so against the Pride displays at Target that he/she should work someone else!

Seeing how experts in childhood development say that kids should start the basics of sex ed around 5, I don't see why it would be a big deal for someone who is transgender to be around a 12 year old.

And sexual orientation and body awareness can and should happen as young as it does for cis straight kids, which seems to be right at the onset of puberty for orientation and a lot younger for body awareness (sometimes as young as 3).

Puberty blockers have a legitimate need specifically for children, so preventing their use is wrong. Unless you want to deal with a 7 year old having a period and all the long term negative effects from that. And being trapped in the wrong body with all the psychological harm that causes is an equally serious issue and is an equally valid reason for using them.

Yeah, someone in drag probably shouldn't be reading a book to children, but that's only because drag is a particular style of clothing and attitude. A straight person in stereotypical clothing used for drag but for the traditional gender role and demonstrating the same attitude should also not be reading a book to children. A transwoman in jeans and a tanktop with modest makeup is not drag.

And quite frankly, unless the person is a significant other, get the hell out of everyone's wardrobe, out of everyone's physical closet, and pay attention only to the outside of the swimsuit and not the inside. It ain't that hard.

fifty bucks says this is being juiced lol
Probably not. As of 2020, digital downloads made up 6% of music revenue, while physical sales made up 7% and streaming made up 85%. So it's not that it's being juiced, but so few people actually care about buying and downloading music that it's easy for a vocal minority manipulate iTunes Charts.

Yeah it's like bragging that you ran the fastest mile in a town with a population of 40.

Let's be real, people in power focus on these culture issues and get people riled up about them so that we wouldn't focus on actual important issues. Like paying people more and getting people healthcare.

Quick Note: We don't insult each here. There are some lines that are not to be crossed.
I can understand why someone's posting would make you want say something about them, but don't.
Put them on ignore and you don't ever have to see them again.
You will be much happier.
If you can't behave yourself...

This is misinformed. There are many different types of drag, it is not one particular style of clothing and attitude. There's very adult-oriented drag, yes, but there's also family-friendly drag that has nothing to do with sex or adult-oriented themes.

A drag show in a club or concert hall is very different from a drag story time. Many queens have family-friendly personas, many are R/X rated, and there's everything in between. Some have different acts for different audiences.

The people squawking about drag story times claim that the kids are being "indoctrinated" to be gay, trans, anti-Christian, whatever. These queens read books about acceptance and inclusion and that it's okay to be different. The horror!

Fuck that noise. If people don't want their kids to hear uplifting stories about acceptance, tolerance, and inclusion, then they are free to not bring their children there. They can move along - what they shouldn't be doing is telling others that they can't bring their own kids there, or trying to get these story times banned. This is why idiots are trying to make it illegal to be a drag queen, so they can shut these down and drive drag into the shadows.

They can fuck right off.

This is just sad targrt just sad you cannot sell said items

What the heck happened to “make it right for the guest”?

Up to 15 billion loses now

Just reading the blurb I see misinformation: the tuck-friendly swimsuits were NOT children's sizes. I don't support "news" outlets that can't get their facts straight; they are part of the problem.

Not to say the rest of the article isn't accurate- I can't speak to that as I haven't read it.
