I'm finally free. Last day was yesterday. They had me scheduled this morning even though my termination paperwork said the 18th. I had my first child last month and went on paternity leave for 3 weeks. Went back to work 2 weeks. I really did not want to go back, but thought it's only for 2 weeks. Dumb, dumb move. Not worth the extra money. 5+ years of being a lead with nothing but excellent review scores. I will miss the team, but Target can suck it.

A + to me is doing your best, being a good communicator and always working hard, never messing around and wasting time chatting up friends (I'm looking at you, Other Market TM). Not Busting My Butt is working twice as hard so I can take on a special project that will save us some time and grief in the long run, like LOCU'ing all the coolers so we can find ghosts and getting our counts under control (all of my own initiative), or freezing my rear off digging through bakery in the freezer to make sure all of our disc. is out and whatnot. That is going beyond and above, lol.

We've been losing lots of people at our store as well. I hope to be soon as well. There are also plenty of people looking at other places of employment too. I feel that it's really sad since the people leaving genuinely care about their work but the company could care less. Lots of experience walking out the door too.

My ETL-AP when I was with Target recently was freaking out because we had a huge visit. I told her me and the team would take care of all the stuff we needed to do to make her look good. On the day of the visit, it went extremely well and the only thing they said my team needed to work on was getting more apprehensions. After that, my ETL thanked me and the team. What sucks is regardless in September, AP hours are going to get cut and one of the other TPS that I still talk with is planning on leaving. When I left, my team said my spot would not be replaced but I was only working 20 hours part time. The store team was having hours cut as well. A lot of time we would only have 3 zoners to close and not many cashiers either. I'm wondering how Target will be at the end of the year and next year too.

Three more cashier/service desk people are leaving. The ETL-Ge actually had the nerve to remark that she "needs some f***ing staff". If the current staff wasn't treated like crap, it wouldn't be a problem.

our store is still holding steady but most all of us who have been there since the store opened 3 yrs ago, have had our sprits burned and our wills shattered. no one cares at this point becasue we know that no matter what we do we will be the ones thrown under the bus by leadership in favor of the guest. there is talk but at this point no one has walked. yet.

From the 9 ETLS we had we lost 5 of them in these last months all forced to go to other suffering stores while making us suffer more since we just have a few left :\
Made a visit to my old store today. They had support help from the 3 nearest stores since literally half the team has quit. You would think the DTL would see how awful the management is and do something about it, but apparently all they did was send help and cancel two trucks to get them unburied.

@redeye58- I used the analogy of putting a bandaid on a severed artery. We have 2 on their final 2 weeks, 1 (extreme long timer) thisclose to quitting and myself transferring, all in softlines. They have shuffled 2 TL's into other areas....more than likely to try and "lose" them quickly. We lost 2 electronics team member's in the same week and our backroom/push team is probably at a 95% (probably more)turnover rate this year.

it took 2 years for them to realize that our STL was a problem even though it was evident in the first 3 months that she had no clue how to run a store (came from HQ marketing i believe to be the STL)

Our problem is a new etl in market. Morale has gone WAY down since she came. As one of my fellow market tms has said it's gotten toxic over there. I wanted to quit before but more so since she's been here. I'm just so glad that I now can. I just feel sorry for the ones still there. I know there are a lot who have left and more are planning on it. Even one girl who just started in Market. Talking to our etl-ge and he said that it's just gotten so much worse overall since he started 13 years ago. And I have to say that morale is down all over the store not just in market but it seems to be worse there.
The quality of leadership/management has collapsed at every level. Those people who were competant have been fleeing to other jobs leaving behind the bottom of the barrel to quickly move up the chain. People who would not have been considered qualified to an ETL ten years ago are now being made DTLs. Crappy pay, no staffing, massive cheating, unrealistic goals and poor leadership from the top means you have lower your standards a great deal. It is only going to keep getting worse.

Our DTL met with the TLs last week and was floored at the amount of complaints about the ETL staff, and the general morale among the team. The environment in my store (and I'm sure many others) is completely bleak. It's like there's a dark cloud hanging over the building every day when you walk in. Everyone is feeling it, from Sr TL's to flow. Everyone is beaten down and even the former Kool Aid guzzlers are bitter and cynical. We all really like our STL, he's the only one who hasn't changed - but the current ETL lineup are bratty, entitled, and manipulative. I would say that the Best Team Survey is going to be a bloodbath this year, but the BTS is a total joke. I'd LOVE the chance to bend the DTL's ear!
My last day is next week. I've been an SFT for the last 11 years (actually a tech for 1 1/5) and we've had 6 SFTs leave in ours and the neighboring district in the last year. Not to mention 2 group and 2 district level facilities people in the last year so you know it's bad. Sad thing is a good number of people who have left or been "asked" to leave had a ton of years in so all that experience is gone. SFT positions (SBS for those who have been around for a while) used to NEVER come open unless someone retired or died, now they're leaving in droves.

Ya....im thinking it will be soon when my SFT leaves. He goes above and beyond what he has to do every single day and is one of the coworkers I talk to the most. He has about had it with Target and all the policies and changes going on now.

One of the people that was supposed to leave us last week had to be escorted out after they were terminated, ironically, on their last day.
By the amount of ETL ass kissing they are doing in huddles, they are scared. I guess they got a clue by the horrific review feedback they have been getting.
