If I get a Dept 4 display that has a cord, I cut the cord.
What @60SecondsRemaining said is correct - can't sell Baby or Furniture displays.
Target has been moving away from working/OOB displays to dummy displays, so hopefully that will make it easier.
Like @commiecorvus did, I also write on my displays to indicate that it is a display only - not for sale. Not all signing specialists do this.
Yeah, if you want to buy a piece of furniture that has a hole drilled into it so it can be attached to the shelf!

We were talking grills when I said so many missed sales. Display grills are my late season savers for sales and redcards. It too bad I can't get AAR points for what they buy with them.
We've got some nice inch square stickers on a bunch of the older displays that say display-not for sale. Old signing guy wasn't in today to ask if we made or ordered them. But I want some for the dozen displays from May I just put out today....
Yeah, after yesterday and watching them sell department 004 stuff, my caring level dropped further. Shocking that it could.
The only reason it was done was so that a few pet employees could buy them.
Because I heard them say ... Make sure you put them out right before I get off.

I won't lie. I'm dying for a color of Kitchenaid mixer to go disco so I can beg for the body pieces. Cheaper than a re-paint and no cords on them. And five STLs ago they said I could have the pink one...although its held on longer than I ever thought it would. But it would be a rescue from the trash like a poster not sell the display....unless they wanted to mark a $200 mixer down to $20.
