Oh, does this mean that stores who are in special municipalities (Chicago, Kansas City) can actually write a schedule without having to guess how much payroll they’re getting? Also starting mid April the schedule will be posted 3 weeks out vs 2 weeks out.
We were told that store attributes were taken into account and DSDs had to manually input unique attributes like remote drive up, multi store backroom, remote stockrooms, dual entrances, mall stores and such to allow a more accurate payroll plan per store.Oh, does this mean that stores who are in special municipalities (Chicago, Kansas City) can actually write a schedule without having to guess how much payroll they’re getting?
“Unique attribute: please 😭”We were told that store attributes were taken into account and DSDs had to manually input unique attributes like remote drive up, multi store backroom, remote stockrooms, dual entrances, mall stores and such to allow a more accurate payroll plan per store.
What? Every store is a little different.“Unique attribute: please 😭”
Is that a 3rd party software company or what Target calls itNew payroll system is called workforce management
Rumor has it that Circle Cards are getting rid of the check requirement. Is that true?but no operational changes
I think it’s target software. All of the myTime APIs have always been referred to as WFM (Workforce Management)Is that a 3rd party software company or what Target calls it
No lol. it was a joke for stores to just put “please” as a store attributeWhat? Every store is a little different.
Does that mean the rdc forecast will be 3 weeks out as well? Also starting mid April the schedule will be posted 3 weeks out vs 2 weeks out.
Workforce management is in return for the way stores earn payroll. What’s changing is behind the scenes and the data target inputs into Kronos and other software to get payroll. Then sometime in 2026 my time will be changing as well to be more an efficient software because the current software we use is 15+ years old.Is that a 3rd party software company or what Target calls it
Yes trailer forecast and all other forecast related reporting will be a minimum of 17 days out.Does that mean the rdc forecast will be 3 weeks out as well?
Just another week of plans that have to change when something unexpected inevitably happens
I was thinking the same. It's cute how Target is pretending they can be proactive when we all know good and well, that's not who it is at the core. And never will be.
To be fair we are super behind in this aspect. We currently post the schedule 10 days out where every other major retailer except bestbuy is 14-17 and Walmart is at 21 days in advance. This has nothing to do with anything other than giving tms the industry standard. It’s been asked a lot in team voice and while not all tms care, a big chunk did.Just another week of plans that have to change when something unexpected inevitably happens
Yeah that official communication comes out Monday and stores have until may/June to be on process but every leader will close once a week with the exception of inbound. Essentially most stores will end up having 3-4 closers a night.Fascinating to hear that having more leaders late/closing is more widespread. I just assumed it was our SD.
Just wanted to add…Theme of the year was nothing new*. Small asterisks there because there is a new payroll system rolling out in June but no operational changes, best practice changes or store structure changes. The whole meeting was a lot on how to improve and things we essentially just need to be better at.
New payroll system is called workforce management and in an extremely simple way of explaining it is stores will earn payroll based off workload not sales. For the most part this won’t affect the baseline of hours and most stores will see a slight increase while high volume will see a slight decrease. Biggest difference is earning flex payroll throughout the month based on added or increased workload like fulfillment or even things like trucks above average size or number of transactions completed on a belted lane etc.
Also starting mid April the schedule will be posted 3 weeks out vs 2 weeks out.
Workforce is the term not the program. Any program or data being used is all target owned/created.Just wanted to add…
Workforce is used by many companies. It’s new to target but not built for target.
My current employer has used it for years. It can also track attendance and assign points for call ins so everyone is treated the same. It’s out of the etls hands.
I know it would be a total guess but do you think it would be a reduction in head count. IMO making the closing TL an additional GM TL would make the most operational sense.I have zero context but if I was a gambling person I would assume this will end up with the closing TL position being eliminated next year.
