1. You should have applications in your drawer with barcodes on the front page. Scan the front barcode while logged in, or even while in the middle of ringing.
2. A screen should come up asking for Credit Card or Check Card. Pick One.
3. If you picked Debit Card, it will now ask for a blank check. Insert a check as if you were using one for payment.
4. Afterwards, or if you picked Credit, it will go back to the ringing screen and "Terms and Conditions" will appear as a line on your transaction. The guest will now have prompts on the Card Reader for him/her to fill out. Inform the guest to complete the card reader, and you can continue scanning items/bagging during this time.
5. At the end of the transaction, hit TOTAL. POS will now ask for an ID of the guest. Either scan/swipe the guest's drivers license, and enter all information POS requests (usually address,etc.). Make sure to ask the guest if their address on their license is correct.
Thats it. Now its up for POS to either approve/deny the application.
If the application is denied, a receipt will print out saying "Needs further review". Applications are not denied on the spot usually, so the guest will get something in the mail in about a week.
If a RED screen pops up saying REDCARD Problem, give guest $3 coupon; the application went through but was unable to be immediately processed. The guest should wait for mail for about a week in this case.
Otherwise, if approved, your screen will say Approved!, and the temporary card will print out on receipt paper. They can use this until they get their card in the mail in a bit over a week. Afterwards, the transaction will attempt to charge itself to the new REDCard account and save the guest 5% off.
