I just thought VMs were 50c over base - aka N09. My old electronics coworker used to be the VM.
Not a mistake, I checked on the hiring needs online and on the sheet. Matched to my store. There is more targets, but when I search it online specifically says my store name. I'm just curious.Maybe it's a mistake? Is there more than one Target in that town and it might be for another one?
I have no clue what volume my store is, but recently they added this N15 VM, 40What volume is your store? We were told stores are supposed to only have an n15 VM if they don't have a n17 VMTL.
Now when you have a VMTL they typically have some VM tms under them but 50 cents over base is only n7. N9 is one dollar over base.
Sounds like your store is using them to fill in for the position until they find someone they can actually hire.Because right now there is someone keyed on the grid as VM and my friend was as well, they only got 50c over base. Just curious why a store needs a VM & VMTL

But why do they need BOTH a PG15 VMTM and a PG17 VML?Sounds like your store is using them to fill in for the position until they find someone they can actually hire.
As for why a VM/VMTL is necessary, it helps refresh the store by creating an appealing environment that encourages people to buy more. Have you ever gone into a store that looked fantastic and just felt wowed by the atmosphere? Or have you even just walked down the street or in a mall, saw a beautiful display in a store's window, and went in to check it out? That's the power of visual merchandising, baby. It dazzles people, brings them into the store, and inspires them to buy whatever is on display or similar to it, and perhaps other things on the way.
VMLs need an assistant a good chunk of the time. Before my VML went on a leave of absence for her surgery, I helped her on a nearly daily basis. Lifting and assembling mannequins, getting fixtures, moving shit around, sometimes even just giving a second opinion. But why do they need BOTH a PG15 VMTM and a PG17 VML?
There's a difference though, between a VMTM (position was just created in February) and a brand TM who gets scheduled under VM shifts. Having a VMTM and a VML is like having two TLs for the same workcenter.VMLs need an assistant a good chunk of the time. As for the pay, my best guess would be competitive pay and specialist stuff. Other places pay decently for visual merchandisers. You'd think you could just give the position to anyone, but sadly some team members and leaders only have taste through their tongue.
That makes the most sense. My store has both the VMTL and VM positions. We are really high volume though so I assume that's why we have both. Most stores will have one or the other, usually not both.
