I've been with Target for 20 long years. And on the actual day of my anniversary i received an extra paycheck, for an insulting amount that definitely did not reflect the time and effort i have committed to my career, yes I said career and not job. But i talked to my HR and it supposedly is my 20 year bonus but she said it would normally be on a regular paycheck and not stand alone. But bc it was a stand alone check, taxes and items like insurance were taken out of it. Is this normal? What should be the service reward for 20 years? bc i heard 200 from others that reached the milestone recently and thats not what this was. Not that i don't trust my HR but should i just call HROC and gather information myself? If anyone has any information that could be beneficial i would appreciate it.

Congrats on your 20 year Anniversary. Wish I could help more, but all I know about anniversary bonuses is that when I hit 10 years, if memory serves, I received not a check but a $50 gift card. Pretty sure it was accounted for someway on my paycheck so that taxes could be deducted. Not an expert on this by any means, but I don’t think insurance should have been taken out of yours.

I just made 15 in October. I got 106.61 it took out taxes but, not insurance or anything else. After taxes I got $75. I’m wondering if they gave me more so that I would get the anniversary amount of $75 after taxes. It was a separate check not included in my regular check. At 10 years I got $50 added to my regular check. I think I got $25 at 5 years. Based on this I’m assuming you should have gotten $100 after taxes.

20 years service award is $100. 25 is $200, 30/35/40/etc is $300. That said, they are added to paychecks normally and are taxed at the supplemental rate so it ends up being a lot less you end up seeing. Nice to have the recognition however. A lot of companies don't do anything.

$5/year. What a freaking joke. And I say this as someone who has received various anniversary gifts from Target. I know that not all companies give anniversary gifts and my tone may sound entitled, but at $5/year, more or less, why not just let us pick some Target merch out of a catalog

They used to do the catalogue years ago and it was all crap no one wanted. I'd much rather have money that I can use on what I want, personally.

I don’t want Target merch! $75 is groceries, gas in my car, Christa’s gifts etc… maybe do both money and a couple Target shirts, or other Target swag.

I agree give me cash. It would be nice if they threw in a couple of Target shirts too. My TL gave me a goodie bag with my favorite chips, candy, and soda. Money and my favorite snacks I wasn’t mad.

Nothing says “we appreciate your service “ like having 50 or so in a building reach 25 years each getting $200 while paying new hires a $2000 sign on bonus. Only to see most of those new hires flame out before reaching 1 year. Our building lost a lot of good people over that one.

My husband's company makes you pay back the sign-on bonus if you leave before 2 years.

I could also swear that at my 10 i got a 100 gift card... Maybe it was just my store showing extra appreciation. However i can say that at this point the matter has left me extremely jaded.
Thank you all for your input!
