HAHAHAHAHAHA DTL-THOT GOT FIRED, RIP IN PIECES CUNT

Met her replacement today, who is unsurprisingly a dude with a very terse, no bullshit style. Absolutely no thottin' around this time. He literally marches up to the assembled leaders waiting to meet him and barks "HELLO EVERYONE, GREAT TO MEET YOU ALL, NOW I'M REALLY LIKING YOUR NUMBERS, IF YOU GUYS WANT TO JUST SHOW ME AROUND AND I'LL GET EVERYONE UP TO DATE ON THE ROLL OUT..." And I'm pretty sure I saw hearts in ETL-log's eyes. Gross, get a room.

I didn't have big enough balls to do the Oliver Twist routine with a plaintive "May we please have some moar hours?" but I asked ETL-log to pass the message along. 50/50 chance he actually did. Lololol.

Did they explain who would be unloading the truck? I've been on flow on and off for years and have never worked anywhere else. This upcoming week they have me scheduled for flexible fulfillment. I asked my TL about who, specifically who would unload the truck, and she had no idea why they scheduled me there. Told me just to come in and do the truck like I always do. Eliminating flow or even reducing our hours is something I will never understand.

The P1 team unloads the truck, and then starts working the freight on the floor in shifts, and doing their own backstock. They will have an assigned area of the store, and be in charge of the other tasks in that area, in addition to the freight.
The Flow Team has been integrated with the GM (Hardlines) team.

We started this this week, but only the ETLs knew about it before it happened, causing a bit of chaos.

So a bunch of inexperienced TMs sorting the line and throwing the truck? Flow team now dispersed throughout the store at different shifts throughout the day?

Formerly flow but now considered inbounds we start at 6 AM (all 4 of us) unload truck in two hours then push freight. We do PP1 areas which have been assigned and backstock for the next 2 hours. We have 4 hour shifts. The rest of the team comes in staggered times for their assigned areas. We were told as unloaders all we will be doing is unload then push and backstock. Everyone else will do the same except add in loading there own pulls setting endcaps etc.. We follow the company guide for push times.

This sounds like our store. The inbound team (usually 4 or 5 of us) are only scheduled for 4 hours. We come in at 6, finish the push left from the previous day and usually start the unload about 730-745. Once we're done we take our 15, then push for a half hour or so, then go home. Lately though they're having us punch out and leave as soon as the truck is done. We've all asked for more hours but apparently there are none for us to get. If 4 hour shifts are all they are going to give it's worthless for most people to even apply.

That’s a sales job and I’m sorry but TMs aren’t paid enough for that.
I'm sure everyone for the most part would agree but in the end it's Target's choice of what they want out of their work force for that wage. Its your choice to do it or find a new job. Saying we don't get paid enough is not really a reason that's acceptable anywhere. Just like if something cost to much for people to buy it, if no one buys it the cost comes down. If target can't get people to work for them for what ever reason they will increase hours or wages. So far though target is doing fine and there is no panic to change that yet. I don't disagree just saying if your hanging on to something at target thinking it will change because 'they don't pay us enough to do this" you will be waiting for ever while they schedule you one 4 hour shift because your work ethic will probably be poor if you feel this way. Plenty of burger flipping jobs out there that pay about the same with much less responsibility.

There’s a big difference between trolling and being honest. I’m not here to protect people from feeling sad I’m here to tell it how it is and if you disagree then tell me why
While that’s fair to say and to an extent I can understand where you’re coming from because I myself have almost never dipped below 35+ hours while I was a team member. Now, as a team lead I’m never scheduled less than 38. But, and here’s what it all comes down to... every store is different. I’m blessed that I work in a great store, with great leaders and great team members!

So, I've just joined here as our store is at the beginning of rolling out some of these changes... I'm wondering, will all part time employees with limited availability be phased out since they are requiring new hires to have open availability? I'm a hard worker but currently only work nights and weekends.... Any thoughts?

When I first started on flow it was a third shift job. It's slowly become a first shift job which I can barely make work as it is. They came to me (and the rest of our team) asking to confirm our availability. I told them what was in the computer was correct as I have family obligations. Their response was 'that might become a problem.' I didn't ask what they meant and they didn't elaborate and I've heard nothing since then. They are only giving me one shift a week but others on my team w open availability aren't getting hours either. So it sounds like they are trying to find reason to let the 'old process' people go while replacing them w new.

Our team has been trying to get hours yet there are 'now hiring' signs out front.

My understanding is that SBUX falls under Food/GM ETL, not S&E ETL.

We shall soon find out on Monday how our stores implement things. All I got to say is that I want a damn key so I don’t have to ask for people to open up the key cabinet or the cleaning closet next to me.
That is correct...at least in my store.

Are you able to close m-f?

Our store also isn't giving many hours but continues to hire... It seems a shame to lose good employees just because they have other obligations... Whatever happened to work /life balance?

What’s not as early as some? If you’re able to go to work by 4, maybe 430 until close. Depending on your store, of course, you could apply for the ‘closing expert’ or ‘specialist’ or whatever it’s called. I’m pretty sure it’s expert.

My store has people come in as late as 7pm to close on weekdays, and 8pm on weekends.

Alright. Corporate has some new ideas, and they want to shake everything up. Here is the rundown:

WHAT WE KNOW:
  • Corporate is running a pilot in 26 districts that will completely replace the operational model in their stores, and eventually, in all stores nationwide.
  • The pilot is being rolled out selectively so they can flesh out any issues/quirks with the program.
  • We expect this to be rolled out to all stores by Q2 2019. Once the pilot period is over, it will be slowly rolled out district by district to see how it gets handled. All districts should be on board by Q2 2019.
  • The current "Team" culture is gone. All job titles will be changed, in that hourly employees are considered to be experts(food,br,flow, fufillment), advocates(front end), and consultants(a&a, electronics, and beauty) -@Lazy. Groups of hourly employees will be led by their respective "Lead" (formerly TL), and will be completely responsible for their own section of the store (food, electronics, softlines, starbucks, liquor, etc. [not including hardlines tm's/tl's, explained below]).
  • The main change is that each group of hourly employees will be responsible for pushing their own sections of the truck in their respective areas. The goal is to have the flow team be eradicated, with the exception of a "Backroom Lead" (formerly TL) to supervise and manage the flow of hourly employees in and out to unload their portions of the truck/back-stock their products.
  • Distribution Centers will now be placing goods on pallets sorted by group (target speak for department), instead of the old way of just filling the truck full of boxes.
  • The job of LOD will be completely removed. Anything you would have gone to the LOD to solve, you will now go that groups "Leader" (formerly ETL) Notice how TL is now Lead, and ETL is now Leader.
  • The Sr. ETL position is now removed. They are now considered to be Leaders. They will keep their pay, and will be grandfathered in. Current and New Leader's (ETL's) can never reach the rank (or the pay grade) of Sr. ETL. Same thing will happen to current Sr. TL's. (Sr. TL's can expect to keep their keys, but it is at Store Director's discretion).
  • Pricing and POG are now gone. Each group is now responsible for these tasks.
  • Property Maintenance Leader I (previously PMT/PMTL) no longer reports to the Store Director (previously STL).
  • Assets Protection Leader I (previously ETL-AP) no longer reports to the Store Director (previously STL). They report solely to the APBP.
  • Harlines is being renamed General Merchandise.
  • Depending on store volume, there will be 2-4 groups that are responsible for sections of General Merchandise (previously Hardlines). This is where it gets confusing, so hang with me here:
  • 1. Flow TM's and Flow TL's are now "experts" and Leads for their portion of General Merchandise. The ETL-LOG is now General Merchandise Leader I for their section of General Merchandise.
  • 2. Backroom TM's, Backroom TL's, Hardlines TM's, and Hardlines TL's are now "experts" and Leads for their portion of General Merchandise. The ETL-HL is now General Merchandise Leader I for their section of General Merchandise.
  • CURRENT PRICING AND POG TM's WILL BE REASSIGNED/TERMINATED BASED ON BUSINESS NEEDS (at discretion of the Store Director). If in a higher volume store, General Merchandise will be split into up to 4 sections, and will be staffed by those previously in Pricing/POG and new employees will be brought in to meet business needs (if positions need to be filled). If in a lower volume store (2 sections of GM), and your Store Director won't performance out under-preforming Employees, you most likely will be transferred/termed. Unfortunately, you are SOL. I would recommend talking with leadership NOW to get your job changed if you do not want to be transferred/terminated (ESPICALLY IF YOU ARE IN A ULV STORE). Once everyone who doesn't read this website finds out about this, you will have a harder time finding a new position in your store.
  • HR and VM stay mostly untouched (except for the job title changes).
  • New pay grades (I have no info on this yet, sorry).
  • Updates to E2E. Should be more streamlined with the updates discussed in this thread.
  • SFS is renamed Fulfillment. Job titles will correlate. No major changes.
  • From my understanding, they [Presentation/Pricing] will be phased out (at least in an official capacity). Everything that's not a specialty center (beauty, electronics, style) or food falls under "general merchandise" which will be one team. Hypothetically, though, you could have distinct teams within that unbrella title and people could continue on as usual. I'm curious, though, if they will require stores that had an overnight or 4am plano team to transition dayside. -@PlanoPuppy
  • Shipt will now take up space in the backroom. Shipt contractors will be constantly coming in/out of the backroom to gather guest orders and drive them to the guests. They will wear a green Shipt shirt and will have a Shipt ID badge with a hologram and picture of them on it. They will check in with the Backroom Lead before taking anything. IF YOU SEE SOMEONE WALK INTO BACKROOM NOT WEARING THIS UNIFORM AND CLAIM THEY WORK FOR SHIPT, CALL AP ASAP!!!
  • DEPENDING ON STORE VOLUME: There may be a dedicated Shipt (or multiple) employee(s) (not contractor) walking the store and gathering items for guest orders, and will leave them in the assigned area in the backroom for the Shipt contractors to pick them up and drive them to the guest.
  • New Job titles:

  • The pilot is being rolled out to the following districts:
If you think I missed something/think something needs to be updated, post below and tag me and I will fix it.

Best of luck to everyone in the pilot districts, and to everyone else when this finally gets rolled out. Hopefully it won't be too horrible by the time it reaches your store.

Will limited availability employees be phased out?!?

5:30 but most of our closing shifts have been changed recently to come in around 3:30, 4, 4:30....

7... 8... 🤯
That’s insane. And frankly a joke imo. But the closing expert would be a set position, like closing TL. Depending on your stores volume, you may have between 1-3 closing experts. They (the closing experts) along with the closing TL would come in 330-close, Monday-Friday.

Are you getting the hours you want?

At my store, your availability would probably be fine if you were a good team member. We have a hard time hiring in our area due to all the competition [for workers.]

Before the first meeting even started this morning an older tm was telling me they won't climb ladders ever. They are a previous inbound tm now in baby hl and was told to pull a batch. Does the ADA cover a person just being older and worried about going up a ladder??

The ADA only covers reasonable accomodation. You still must be able to do the work in some way. If a TM is physically unable to use a ladder, the wave is a viable ADA compliant option.

What the ADA does NOT do is say "ok you can't do it, so you keep the job and someone else will do that part." The company does not need to pay a second team member to do part of your (whoever's) job.

So if someone is unable or unwilling to physically retrieve items off a high shelf, they are unable to perform a necessary function of the job and the company is within their rights to term them or find them another role in the store.
