2023 New pilots?

I freaking hate casepacks. Whats the point of them?
There are many items that are better backstocked in cases, ex. lamps or high quantity items. They're also safer to handle when you need to go over 6ft/use a ladder.

I'd rather throw up one case of 36 of a hand towel multiset as opposed to cracking open the case, detrashing a giant bag with 6 smaller bags inside, then using up 7 wacos to get them located. Especially with priorities being the primary fill, you won't have to open the case until there's a solid amount of need on the floor for that case.

On top of that, our SVP just shot out an email saying no sweeps will be allowed in our region going forward. GVP has to approve all exceptions. So when DC shits on you and you need to use space efficiently, cases become a big deal.

our store continues to struggle, and I'm not optimistic that going to back to old processes is going to change that
I'm sorry that your store is struggling so much, but I think you're right - old process or new, the struggle remains if no one knows how or cares enough about doing a good job, and has inconsistent leadership.
The DBO model has, for the most part, worked quite well at my store although not every DBO has done the best job on every aspect. It hasn't been perfect, but what structure would be? The problem with it from my perspective is a lack of hours to perform all the tasks.
I'm anticipating a return of intense boredom with doing the same thing, shift after shift after shift. So glad I'm pretty near when I can retire although it's looking like it'll be sooner than I planned - just don't think I can hang on as long as I'd hoped to. Boredom is not my friend.

By sweeps, you mean merchandise transfers?

That’s insane.

Degenerate central. There have been points where I was told to go up to guests if I saw them stealing and say 'hey I think you forgot to scan something' and I have 0 AP training whatsoever. I refused to and they never said anything more on the subject until the next time they decided it was a thing we should do.

We are told to watch, then told to stock stuff, then scolded for not catching thieves.

Guess I never thought about how bad the store was. I assumed it was like this everywhere for the longest time.
That store is really deviating from correct procedure. I utterly despise shoplifting but on my many SCO shifts I've learned from a few coachings that my job is to watch the guests and transactions, and be there to provide service and assistance. I do think that being told to stock candy at the same time, or open up the adjacent check-out register and cover SCO at the same time means that the quality of service expected from our SCO guests suffers. It's "robbing Paul to pay Peter".

That's what Target does best. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yep. Any merch transfer orders have to have GVP or an exception sweep order
That’s literally insane. RevLog already goes by forecasted sales, so everything that can be sent back is “HQ Approved” by default.

Do the DCs serving your region mess up all the time like ours do? We have dozens of tickets in myHelp where HQ says our OTLs and forecasted sales are accurate, the DC is just dumping more on us than they should be. We could routinely send back multiple pallets each week with the extra crap they needlessly send us.

There’s nothing holding them accountable for doing so. Only stores are held to any sort of standard, unfortunately.

Sh*t rolls downhill. And the stores are in ravines. But don't worry, it's all the stores' fault.

Gotta be group specific because that’s not a thing where I’m from. “Exeception sweeps” by definition need approval but normal sweeps and transfers definitely don’t. We send Store-DC transfers a few times a week.

Yeah like I said in my earlier post it's region wide. We could just be in different regions.

Thought I would bump this as opposed to making an entirely new thread... Those in the pilot, how is it going for you now?

It’s going okay in my store, mostly just a battle between us, gm & specialty because all the teams are working against each other. I’m hearing from our ETLs though that other stores are really struggling with backroom management so there’s a possibility they’ll give it back to gm but that’s hearsay right now.

Wouldn't mind if they gave each store a couple like official "Captain" positions for TMs. Could pay an extra $1 or 2, and they'd be the designated trainer and point person when the TL/ETL is unavailable.

Ex. Service & Engagement Captain (old GSA) that'd train new hires, run breaks and speed weave, do cash office, etc
Or
A Fullfillment Captain (pacesetter) that trains, can help with INfs, can call for backup, etc

Basically, it's things that these TMs are already doing, but at least recognizing them with a bit of extra cash and a fancier title for the trouble!

Thinking this would be the TL bench/development pipeline spots, like the old GSAs, Brand Specialists, PAs, etc
In targets eyes and , arguably the correct view the TLs should be doing all that … I can see having captains at night to help the closing lea

Continuing that line of thought, I'm wondering if Target will expand the new PG38 role to other positions going forward.
