With all of the 4Q freight coming in before the 17th, what was the plan from HQ to do with that much stuff? There's no room in the stockroom. Containers and off site, sure, but what a pain. What about stores without containers or off-site? And heaven knows we aren't going to locate the containers like we used to or the shrink wrapped pallets in the steel so then things disappear into the void and seem to only exist in Zebra. There is not enough room to push it, not enough people to push it and no one seems to know the official HQ plan assuming there was one.

There is no plan. We basically got a "Sorry, not sorry" for them ordering too much style freight and the excuse that the RDC needs room for all the other freight they're dumping on us.

It's like actual replenishment isn't a thing anymore. They just front-load everything now. It doesn't matter that we get 9 trucks a week, we need a month worth of freight right now. It doesn't make sense. Its never made sense. The burden always seems to fall on stores. Always.

When Modernization failed at the RDCs, they shifted to stores to pick up the slack and make it work. They screw us over on SSZs (because investing in a system that allows more stock zones is impossible, apparently), they screw us over on PIPOs (always on the BOL, but physically on a different trailer), they screw us over on transition freight and segregated trailers (why it can't be palletized at the RDC is beyond me), and they're screwing us over on the absurd levels of freight we're receiving. Don't forget that they can cancel, move, or add trailers with seeming impunity while store leadership gets dragged over the coals for even suggesting such a thing. And don't you dare load sweeps on the wrong day/that aren't perfect, because then you'll get a nastygram -- meanwhile stores have to use a stacker to open trailer doors far too often or get trailers out of order/at the wrong time and nothing ever comes of it.

My store just recently transitioned from C&S (they can rot in hell for the trailers they sent us) to FDC.. but guess what? The FDC doesn't have a printer to do pick labels. Sorry, what?! How is that even a thing? Who the fuck is running this shitshow and why do they still have a job?

It's not up to HQ to plan it, that's on your ETL's.

We took ~70 hrs of Seasonal the last 2 nights, got it all pushed out, and mostly backstocked.

Between the day walkers and Inbound pullers keeping the priorities clear for Seasonal, we've been able to keep enough space clear to backstock. It's basically a manpower allocation test to get all the initial push in the store. The rest of our trucks now don't have a ton of seasonal so we're looking pretty good and didn't fall behind.
