The first cylinder is not free. For all intents and purposes, the second one is. The first one is $30 which covers the tank and CO2 (insurance if the guest doesn't return it) but when they give it back to get another one you only pay (mostly) for the CO2 and associated costs like shipping and markup. This is why it's only $15. Sort of like how the CA Refund Value works. Buy bottle, pay deposit and price of item. Return bottle to recycling center, get deposit back.

My bad, guys. Someone at my store told me the replacement cylinders were free as long as you turned in an empty one. I guess they lied lol.
