Why Target takes off so much taxes from final paycheck more than any major other retails like Walmart, Amazon, Macy's , and Primark

I also owed about $900 one year 27-ish years ago bc I did my w4 wrong. Lesson learned
The year my husband & I got married I thought I did the right things on the w4 but did not, so we owed $2K that year, which was a shock.

And now the w4 doesn't have exemptions and makes even less sense than before. My retired CPA father in law has no clue how to fill the damn thing out to ensure the right amounts taken out.

There was some A&W restaurants in my area at one time but they moved out by the time I was old enough to remember. So any discussion I've heard about the chain locally is from those who remember it.
I had one around me but it closed down 10 years ago....I had to look it up and apparently they still exist, there are 5 in my state. As for taxes I am no expert, I just put everything for the year that I have in TurboTax. Target does seem to overtax at least at the federal level, I always get $300-400 back. State I usually owe nothing or pay a little.
