Does anyone know what a “empty location audit” is and how do you do it?

It's a Greenfield report that tells you where your empty locations are in the back room. Take that report and verify that the locations are in fact, empty. If not, challenge the product out and backstock as appropriate.

How would I pull the report? Is it pulled through MPM or can I pull the report on the computer? And for liabilities that can just be done on the device correct?

Also if they are not empty do I need report it in the device that they weren’t empty?

It's in Greenfield, best to do it on the computer. If you haven't worked in Greenfield, get someone to help you.

If it's not empty, just pull the product out, push it, and backstock after if floor is full.

Its done through greenfield. And you do not need to physically report anything, just need to challenge the product, by either pushing it to the floor or if its clearance or something getting rid of it properly. In addition to liabilities you should be doing the trapped item report as well.

I prefer auditing the location instead of challenging it. If there any scan data in the last 30 days with that item, it will feed the BAI algorithm data that helps it predict future BAFFLE locations as well as potentially tying the error to the TM that made the mistake. More than likely, the fills will pull it if the sales floor needs it.

I remember doing this 2 years ago, I wasted so much time checking things off when I could just be fixing and purging things.

When normally doing the empty location report I would agree, but for bounce back you are doing a lot more then just doing the report. I am reprofiling sections and clearing as much of the back room as possible. Tbf I am not even using the empty location report at all im phulysically auditing every location Im the back room as it hasn't been done in a long time in my store and there is missed salvage and vendor products galore.
