Woo hoo!!!!!! New POS sounss great. T.com on POS would be HUGE
Yep, I was there when it rolled out.(sorry to anyone who I just made feel old)
Idk if this has been mentioned since the forum is so long but now best practice is “the app/barcode acts as sufficient identification... use ID if the app won’t work or is eaiser for the guest”All I’ll say about this is there is a reason after you scan a barcode it brings you to the “verify guest id” screen.
Also PSA: sometimes guests use an old email. Always check name of the email barcode doesn’t work.
WorkbenchWhere did you guys find these documents about the register updates and such? Am I missing important news on workbench somewhere?
The March addendum came out yesterday. It is from that.Where did you guys find these documents about the register updates and such? Am I missing important news on workbench somewhere?
My store currently have 2 of these test registers and they are absolutely HORRIBLE. If they plan on rolling these out anytime soon they need to work out some serious bugs. As of right now there are no way to take coupons, take checks, EBT, or target wallet. Suspend slips don't work between the new and old registers. There have been a few instances where the register can't recognize the UPC/DPCI. So far it's been a headache.
My guess is your version is a prototype as other users have said it can handle all transactions. My store currently have 2 of these test registers and they are absolutely HORRIBLE. My store:
ID for all OPUs
My store:
ID for all OPUs
Hold any item under $150 or not on clearance
my store is also ID for all OPUs. We can hold anything that’s not clearence regardless of price (we’ve held iPads before)Literally against best practice and the instructions communicated to leadership. No ID unless guest doesn't have barcode.
Having a log book isn’t best practice either but it’s saved us more than once. Best practice isn’t always the best for each individual storeGuests who have their Target.com, Target App, or Wallet barcodes don’t need to show ID. Your stores just aren’t following best practice.View attachment 7281
