Soo I been a fftl for 2 years at my current store n 2 years at another target before. My team metrics were all green for last year. My sd n elt wants me to change to gmtl and help with the inbound process. I enjoy fulfillment and like what I do. Any advice ? Any gmtl on here?

^This is true, you may not have a choice, and even if you do, management may not take it well if you don’t make the move. That being said, if you like what you are doing and are good at it (and having had green team metrics all last year proves that you are good at it), I would try to stay as FFTL. In my experience management rarely seems to understand that because a certain person gets outstanding results in a particular position does not mean that those outstanding results will transfer with them to any other position. The best GMTL on earth might make the worst FFTL or GSTL (or whatever that position is called these days). Different people have different skills. If I was your SD and I found an FFTL who actually liked the job and was successful at it, that’s the last person I would want to move, because at my store at least, that person would be as close to irreplaceable as a Target TL gets. Why your SD and ETL fail to realize how difficult it is to lead a FF team successfully is a mystery. Congrats on your green metrics, and I hope it works out well for you whatever you choose (if they let you choose.) Good luck!

Agree I refused Gstl

Are you wanting to someday be an ETL? Not sure if it’s the same but, used to be you had to be a team lead in 2 different departments before you can become an ETL. It didn’t matter what 2 departments they were.

Not any more. I've seen several who have only done one position. Depends on the person, how much they need an etl, and how much they kiss ass.
