Every store is different. I would love to have 5 GSAs like your store. No one wants to be a GSA at my store because of the stress. Everyone turns down the offer. TLs are scared of the front as well. In addition if you have to wait for an LOD or SF TL for numbers, you'll be waiting forever. As I said actually running the lanes isn't the problem as my service desk team members can do that. It's about when they actually need a supervisor, they're stuck.
We can go back and forth all day, but if I told you where my store is located it'll put it into perspective. A lot of what you guys are saying is easier said than done. Our store is very complex. If I call for an LOD and it takes forever for them to come because they're dealing with stuff, I know it'll be the same for a GSTM who is just waiting for numbers to do a price match.
In theory I agree with you guys but it's not that simple. Actually the other day I went to the back to print out labels. I got a call for assistance to a register. I got tied up with a guest making my way to the front. The Lod eventually got to the register and the lady was going off so much about waiting for a price that the LOD eventually had to have her escorted out the building. She wasn't even waiting that long, but these are the type of people we deal with on a daily basis.
Just doesn't seem realistic to me for my store. This is why my old STL would schedule GSAs to do 9-5s under a department that has more hours. Unfortunately, I'm not able to control everything. ASANTS.
