January and February kinda sucked when it came to everybody's hours, how does it get in March onwards?

After being not asked to come in tomorrow and only getting 12.5 hours, I checked my schedule for next 2 weeks and i have 31 (picked up 8 from team members) and 22.5 hours the following weeks. Unless they do the same thing and ask me not to come in things seem to be getting better at least at my store.

Nope, not here... about the same reduced level as Feb... there are people getting VAC approved in huge numbers that would never happen in the past.

We have several people off on TWO (2) TRUCK DAYs! That would never happen in the past...in the past maybe 1-2 tops.. with the cuts.. now... we pretty much will approve any VAC.. Thats hours that just go back to the store. I won't get to spend them... so its going to be interesting for a couple days...

We traditionally pick up in hours in March/April. But not if they don't like you. If they would rather you quit or regret keeping you on after seasonal you will continue to get 8-15hrs a week. And often deny you picking up shifts except cashier/carts. And they may even cut the cashier shift down.

We went down and our school system has a 2 week spring break. Get this, I'm in a supert and the two weeks of spring break in March Hardlines and softlines each gets 155 HOURS! That's it! So pathetic.

Fitting room operators got 15hrs this week. In total. You know an average of two hours a day, lol.

I'm Flow currently making 25-30 and it's slow. I just want to get close to 40. :(

I am a backroom day team member. Not a Target sales person.

And fuck the whole "if your store did better on sales, there would be more hours".

No. It's about bosses worrying more about looking good the cunt DTL and getting their bonuses. They don't care about how the store looks. It's all about dem bonuses.

What about the livelihoods of team members? People gots bills to pay. I don't care if the store doesn't make sales. Fuck dat. It's all about survival of the fittest and looking out for yeself.

It's not so much "The better sales the more hours", it's "If you miss sales your hours get cut even further".

And hours are doing okay at our store, I get my 24 hours (max with my school time availability) and a couple backroom TMs are getting 38. Most are between 24 and 32. My store is good for backroom since we're an overnight store, our Flow/Overnight Backroom Team Members get off at around 6 am, so we need morning dayside team members from 6am to midnight.

My hours rose slightly for the second week of March. I guess it depends on how busy your store is.

I'm back down to 32.75 for the week of 3/6, and am lucky to have that. Some TMs are still below 20. and yet, they are still hiring people!

That is what is really pissing me off!! Hours are shit and they are still hiring people :(

Generally February and March are the worst months as far as hours. Easter is a total crapshoot, May is better though still garbage. June onward does okay because of softlines picking up the slack with summer wear as well as rear seasonal with lawn and garden/BTS. This will continue until october when it dives again and then finally upswings from November through January for obvious reasons.

Oddly, my hours actually went up in February compared to January. Usually, February is when I have single digits every week.

Then again, I'm on a much smaller team now that can't be cut as easily without destroying the majority of store metrics.
