Got my first interview next week for ETL-AP which just consists of a phone interview with recruiter. If i am right, it's a three step process (Recruiter -> APBP/STL -> DTL/APD).

Any advice guys? Thanks! :) In a pretty big market. I know and am noticing most ETL-AP roles are getting diminished/moved to APTL roles but with this store I believe ETL-AP will stay there for a while. I applied pretty early, so hopefully that will help.

Thank you guys!

Not sure about AP, but target loves to hear how you help the guest experience. Considering this is number one thing on their list. They like great attitudes during the interview. But as far as what they ask you I'm am no help for AP

Etl-ap schedule are going to be working mid shifts. I think that spot will phased them out to aps-tl, eventually.
@TallAPGuy, any insight?
Spot will interview you, they may ask about how much experience you have. 6 months may not be strong enough from your other job to get the etl job.

True! Worth a shot. Just had a baby so trying to use all options =) There's also APTL open in my area so hopefully they would consider me for that too.

I'm writing out a list of common STAR questions and practicing them... any good questions to ask the recruiter when they ask?

I don't have any advice for the interview, as I've never gone through that. @EagleEye would be a better resource for...actually pretty much every question about ETL-AP.
But from my experience, with the new roll out, if a store hasn't all ready moved to APTL from ETL, it's going to keep the ETL spot. Also, now that they don't have to be closing LOD anymore, my ETL-APs have opened far more often that they used to, but my APBP has still told all the ETL's in my district that they need at least one late shift every week. And if your store doesn't have an APS, then you will need to schedule your self around theft trends to make the apprehensions the APS would otherwise be making.

Still trying to figure out all these positions. What is APS?
Assets Protection Specialist/Expert: The plainclothed/undercover person that is primarily responsible for making apprehensions.
Target Protection Specialist/Security Expert: The uniformed guard primarily responsible for preventing theft through visible presence.
Assets Protection Team Lead: Hourly head of the AP team. They used to have to wear Red and khaki, but I think most have moved to plain clothes now. Cannot conduct internal theft interviews.
ETL-AP: Salary head of AP team. The position is getting phased out of most stores unless they're high theft. Only the very largest stores with highest risk will have both ETL-AP and APTL.
Assets Protection Business Partner: Basically the district supervisor for AP. The store AP teams now report directly to the APBP rather than the Store Director.

AP TMs are the exception to the rule

If you get placed in a store with no APS, run. It's not worth the stress. I have only 1 TSS (formlerly TPS), 1 computer between the two of us, and it's driving me crazy.
I'm in a high theft store working solo as a APL. Very frustrating when it comes to the Business reviews. I'm tired of getting shit for my results. I love working internals but tired of spending 20 hours a week on it. I want a week to only watch externals for 40 freaking hours. Rant over.

I hear you APTM. That’s what a lot of the APTL’s are telling me. I’m about to transition back to AP I was TSS years ago and currently a GMTL. The APBP from another district wanted me for APTL so I’m making the switch not sure what to expect as I’ve been out of AP for about 5 years now.
