Hi fellow TMs! So I applied last week for a job at Target, went in for an interview and was offered a job at Starbucks on the spot. Being that I had no previous work experience, I was a little surprised that they hired me, but I'm nonetheless excited. Orientation is on Monday and I'm a little nervous. What should I expect from it/how long is it? Also, any tips for newbies at Starbucks/personal experience stories?

I would also like to work in other areas of the store so I would be open for cross training, but how long will I have to work at SB before I get cross trained?

Long enough to get the drinks & processes down.
Depending on your style of learning, it could be 2-3 mos because you'll need to have those drinks memorized.
They will also want to train you in opening/closing protocols & some stores (like mine) also train you in food ave so there's ample coverage.
The only time our TMs went outside of SB was when hours were cut/low to pick up cashier shifts.
Some also were trained on salesfloor but they're gonna want you well-versed in your home workstation before anything else.
