MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

@coolerqueen Overheads are a learning process. If your not tall or have long arms it's rough even on the wave. I try to explain that the wave helps you go up but if you don't have the lean reach it can still be a pain.

Try to prep them as much as you can the day before.

Start early, before store open is best.

Build in the air. The pencils were much to big to build on the ground then try to put up. I hung them in sections and put them together while they hung.

It's easier to move things around once they are attached to the ceiling, even if the hook is in the wrong spot if it will hold just hang it. Then you can let go of the sign move to a better spot and move the hook.

This is how I'm feeling after moving over. When they need Plano or pricing help I'm expected to help the team, but when she bought the team coffee cause it was bts week I didn't get shit.

Threw her under the bus last week. I've given you one or two signing shifts to help the team every week since I started abd the list of unfinished details keeps growing. Overheads for btc weren't going up till Monday...stl took care of that. But I suck at overheads, took me all day for the stupid things....Not sure I'm cut out for this based on the given time to set overheads.
That's just wrong! Back to school is the biggest set for signing u should have gotten a coffee☕️And doughnut too. As for over heads this is what I do. I always open the box just enough to get the paperwork. I do it like a few day before. The timing it's like a box of chocolates, u never know what your gunna get. It can take 20 min or 120 min. The paperwork gives me a heads up on what goes up and how much time I need. Closer to the day to hang, I eliminate the cardboard and start putting together what I can in the backroom and if I can, I also add the hanging hooks. The morning they go up, I roll everything out, finish building, add remaining hooks and up it goes. I always have extra hooks in my pockets just in case they break. Almost always they break when the weight gets too heavy and not all hooks are hooked on. The pencils I built them all at once on the floor. I just did it extra careful. Yes, it can get heavy when going up. I just wanted to eliminate putting them together hung on the wave. It just depends on your preference. Once hung, you can always move the hooks around and you don't have to worry so much on disproportioned weight..... I'm glad they changed the pencils. The yellow pencils we used last year around the store, were annoyingly long and hard to keep on the flat without the flat lifting like a seesaw. Tip: always have your hooks organized by size. It just makes the process easier.

For bts over heads: the pencil over in seasonal, the three pencils for the front of the store, and the three directional arrows for bts shop. Btc over heads: the lamp, pillow, and chair that go in mini seasonal with the three cubes, and the three collage directional cubes that went around the store.

I guess different stores got different things, mine has BTC FOS.
It seems like you got bts or btc front signing.

I normally build in the team lead office or my trailer. My arms just aren't long enough even on the wav. Thankfully I have a waco for each size of hangers. I'm having issues getting the hangers back off without the orange tool thing...So I've decided to place them once and only move if really needed.

The Gillette Venus swirl end cap got re-set recently. Did you guys get rid of the vendor shelves/ fixtures? Do I keep it or hoard it?

How long will it be until Spot gets rid of the Flexball displays? Those things annoy the crap out of me and everyone else in the store.

I really hate how the colored backer paper for toys is going away.
I could care less, and I did HATE the pink/blue garbage. At least I saw six cases of new backer paper come in so hopefully I won't be short when we start the project.

Mine came in last week. Didn't open it, but I've got six cases.

I hope I receive it later.. Otherwise, I'll be enjoying taking down pegs just to put up a freaking backer paper.

Also by any chance, does anyone have the pt# for the beats banner signing? I received it late but it didn't come with anything to hang it with..

It's the same light wood as pets if you have extra till yours comes.

Same as candy too. Light woodgrain. We got six cases as well. Way more than we'll use for this set.

I do like that the backer paper is changing. After finishing the remodel, I was surprised to see that it's not white. All of the reinventions changed basically the entire store to one of three white backer papers!

We'll probably get through most of the rest of it tonight.

Haha, we are so behind. I'm still building baby carriages, one trainee and one POG tm are doing last weeks revisions and the third person and trainee did aisle 1&2. *insert insane noises here*

I hate building baby crap by myself. If one more ignorant male walks by and opens his mouth with a smart comment about my reproductive system in relation to my skills building I shall seriously put the fear of GOD into them. I wanted kids, had hubs talked into them, then in-law had the child of satan and now hubs is unwilling to chance having "that child"....but hey-thanks for the reminder that I'm edging into the age of risking birth defects and Down syndrome if I can talk him into it. Asshats.

You are the signing TM and you are building the baby displays? I scheduled one of the flow guys under POG hours for 8 hours and he built everything. I thought that was supposed to come out of POG hours?

On an unrelated topic- the toys transition sucks. I just love packing up an aisle to move it 4 aisles down...

So the last time I was part of this set was two years ago. We had 4-5 people scheduled for POG/Signing ang it got done in one day. This year I set the car seats, and the entire bassinet/walker/high chair/stroller/pack-n-play. With help from one team member for one day. I will finally finish the set this week with any luck, because I got pulled for POG today instead of signing and had to work in toys today. 🙁 STL and I will be discussing this, cause leaving me to fail on my own is bullshit. Even with extra hours to catch up the weeks coming up with only 8hrs of signing forecasted.

For the toys transition- I didn't see any communication about the fins going away (The posts that go under certain headers like nerf, Disney princess) I kinda threw them away. I hated those things.

For the NIT transition- I received the Claremont crib, I'm not sure what to do with it. When I scan it, it has no location. I have the Ava white crib on the focal. On the inline I have the rowen with the waterfall, Eddie bower with the waterfall and the stutton (the small crib). How is your set up?
