MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

Is there a way to get certain items (Fixtures) Expedited?

I have heard many mention of this in my store, yet have never actually seen any option, ever.

I am in a bind because we are 4 weeks deeps into our remodel (A&A and Home, good god this is the worst shit ever) and after BTS/BTC/chemicals/paper, we find ourselves out of regular (fx0007) label holders. every team member decided to literally change every single label holder on every shelf. So the 8 boxes (400 label holders) I stockpiled are now gone, and the 5 boxes I ordered 2 weeks ago have not shown up.

Your STL should be able to do it. I think for SFS supplies I have to open a mySupport with the details, and then have my STL log in and escalate it. Not sure if fixtures works the same, and there might even be a special way to do it since it's for a remodel.

And of course ask other stores if they can spare any. We have a ton of those right now.

Is there a hashtag for the remodel? We had one for the market pushers. It's supposed to get it to the top of the pile. Otherwise can you borrow from another store? I keep ten cases on hand. I'll be ordering the max every chance starting a couple months before the remodel. I did this for the freezer transition to pushers and I've hopefully got closer to enough.

I think there's an entire mysupport category for remodels.
 
Ok, I need to know from other signing specialists how you get everything done all by yourself. Because apparently after a year in the gig I still don't have enough arms and legs to get everything done. I support Plano, but no one supports me. I was a heartbeat away from throwing up my hands and walking out today. I'm still in f*cking back to school doing dinky f*cking sh*t. Because all of a sudden all the store executives are noticing every little damn thing. Meanwhile, I have actually important shit piling up. Does every store only have one signing person??

Every store has one and only one.

Figure out what you can delegate out to the Plano team or others. Are they putting up their own backer paper? If you hand them something for the pog they are setting, ideally they should be able to put it up themselves....this may involve you showing them how the first few times. Same goes for salesplan signing. Whoever is setting those end caps should be the ones putting any signing up as they set.

Also, sometimes you need to prioritize signing over supporting Plano. Especially when it is signing not related to any planograms like the CSE signs. Or if it is for a big set like BTS. Any help for that type of set should be mostly signing related, not setting pogs until you've got a handle on your signing.

It's not always easy and you will get behind often but if you work with your TL, they should be able to give you the time needed to catch back up again.

This sounds like my last 3-4 weeks, I am the Signing Person for my stores A&A 2.0/Home Innovation remodel, AS WELL as all the recent huge transitions (BTS/BTC, we are super freaky, Cosmetics, Chemicals, whatever else there was).

I am insanely behind on remodel as BTS/BTC took up a HUGE chunk of my time when we were in Softlines, luckily (at the time) barely any Signing came for our remodel over there......... Until 3 days ago...... awesome....

Now I have to catch up on Softlines/Home innovation. While also being the guy who has to set up all our new Spotlights.

Oh and the Plano TM/TL that went overnight with us, just told me they didn't do any of the cosmetics signing, after I gave them all of it, because they didn't have time... I want to tell them do not even say that to me, after I did 61 hours of work in 40 hours, and managed to rebuild half the Falcon boards for Softlines as well as take down and put back up every 68" CSE in Softlines. If I am questioned about it, someone is going to get a earful.

This and I have to spend the last 2-2 1/2 hours of my shift trying to keep my Fixture room from becoming a complete disaster.

Yes omg I couldn't even enter the fixture room yesterday. We emptied 6 carts of shelves and the room is still a mess. And none of the shelves were "Plano shelves" despite what the rest of the team thinks.

Thank you for the tips. Normally my week looks like this with a little give and take not too bad. But my TL is on vacation and my boss above him is out on medical. And I'm getting eaten alive by every other team lead and lod in the store. I'm hoping to get caught up this week but I'm also training someone and I don't want to scare them with mania.
 
Anyone have any idea how these large shoe headers are supposed to go up? There is no instructions in the box and I literally have no idea how to hang them.
 
Alright kids... My vml threw away the falcon boards on the girls c9 wall. The part numbers on the instructions with the new cse aren't in sap. Wrong numbers or mysupport the parts order?

If I can remember, I can try and write down the order numbers. Are you talking about the whole Falcon boards? or the Signing?

Are all VMLs complete idiots? Every single one I've had to interact with literally has no brain.

Anyway, there was a redwire about swapping one of the BTS overheads with one of the FOS overheads. Gotta swap the shoe/ruler one with a paper airplane. Of course they don't specify wtf you're supposed to do if you're dual entrance but I'm not going to bother to mySupport it or order anything.

New sign for kids Endcap. From what I can tell it goes behind the bench with Spot the dog in between boys and girls. Thing is that it doesn't attach like the old signing did. Anyone else get this and how are you putting it up? Thnx! 🙂

Do you have the same size falcon board hanging anywhere else currently? I believe the part numbers are imprinted on them. Remove the signing and it should be on the front or back of the falcon board, depending on if they were put up backwards or not.

Or you could measure the signing you have and use that to search SAP. If I had to guess, 30" CSE falcon board?

Ditto. I laughed when I saw it said nothing about a dual enterence door
