MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

Finally done. I put my heart and soul into it so I hope HQ is happy with the results :)

I mean I'm glad

But I meant if SigningLady isn't making her shelf wall look like that I wonder how she's getting away with the pics

I know my store intends on hiding some things on a vehicle out of view of the picture

Fixture room project coming along since I'm the former signing specialist I got volunteered for the refresh :-/

beautiful work so nothing against you but this looks just as sad as i pictured it would in my head. what an absolute waste of space.

it's also only me and one other person today and tomorrow for the fixture room refresh lol. i'll be by myself for the rest of the week getting the rest of it done. fucking rip.

I stand corrected. It is not good. We have so much trash that we can't throw away because some dumbass at corporate decided to cancel the metal recycle dumpster and send us a mixed material only on Wednesday, when none of us that are doing this project are here.

this is apparently an all stores problem, or at least every store in our area isn't getting their dumpster 'til wednesday.

How you coping with the picture taking?

No one has said anything to me about making the wall look any different than it currently does to take pics. And every leader "involved" in this refresh has been told by me that it doesn't make sense for us to pull shelves off the wall to palletize and take up precious space in our already space-constrained backroom when I am Wave-trained and perfectly capable of getting my own shelves off & on the wall. SD did not push back at me on that.....at least not yet.

As for taking the pics, I believe that is falling on the VM to do and he hasn't asked me to change the wall either.

I'm going to keep myself busy with haircare and not worry about it, lol. 🤷🏻‍♀️

You truly have my sympathies.
thanks For the pic - it almost made me stop screaming that we must have the worst fixture room ! cause I think we could tie.

Although i can’t see high - i win if you don’t have loads way up high. I have most stuff on the top shelf piled to the ceiling.
Having horrific nightmares of metal splitting my head open as I move something and no one finding me for days. I am doing this alone - in 3 days. The worst 3 days in my entire time at Target and this is my 49th time (once/month plus now) cleaning the fixture room in 4 years - yes, always alone. 200 tm put stuff there - I’m the only one to clean it.
My complaints, bruises and cuts today did get me an assistant tomorrow to take down anything that is over 8 feet high. Yippee.

Have to hold everything til our dumpster comes on Wednesday too. Too bad I spent so much time to empty a bunch of boxes to sort for metal recycling cause ours turned in to mixed materials also.

HaHaHa - VOLUNTOLD !!! That’s the BEST !

our AP has been taking fixture room pics - not sure where they are going to.
they run the store safety meetings so I was assuming they are monitoring an unsafe situation for improvement ?

i didn’t hear about taking final result pics to send anywhere but kinda regret not taking that ‘before’ pic.

Not doing it ? I didn’t think that was an option. We only used 10 hours but at least we’re trying.

Nope. No hours. No one's scheduled. Nothing happening. I guess we got scheduled an extra truck and that is where the hours went. So from here forward, I'm just tossing anything new that comes in. Who cares.

Its a required project our AP said its part of new requirements for our compliance walks which used to be styrteck but is now some other company . And the pics are sent to AP and Corp.

Also 60 hrs were provided for all store for this project granted at my store we got 40 cause they used 20 hrs somewhere else in the building

Ecolab is at my store, presumably yours.

60 hours, yeah. With me and the other two people getting 7 hours each day, we got 42.

I don't know how bigger stores are doing this properly. Are they just throwing things away with no regard?

We are throwing stuff away thats damaged or we don't need, our pmt ordered a metal recyle dumpster... There is also a keep toss list on how much if stuff each type of store is supposed to have. It's on the fixture room project description page. Also yea its ecolab couldn't think of their name

The word "required" must not have the forceful meaning it once did. There was talk of doing it, but it evaporated. All I know is, it's not a thing at my store.

As for the hours, if 20 if the hours can be used somewhere else at your store, it seems all of them can be.

i was told we got no hours for this and that they had to pull from gm to do it.

The hours for this did fall under GM. This is the big problem with dumping all workload hours into one giant bucket, no visibility to see if the hours for a needed project are 1) actually there and 2) used appropriately.

STL agrees: doing cosmetics in the fixture room would be stupid this week

Agreed. I didn't get rid of anything for cosmetics yet and will wait until after the reset to thin it out a bit. I did organize it so it is easier to find what we need next week.

Our fixture room is slightly worse than a dumpster fire on any given day.

As of this week - it still is a shit show.

I think it's looked nice maybe 5-10 days out of 365. And that is being generous.
