Anybody else dedicate 1hr the night before a truck arrive to clear & set the line? My line always have flats, pallets (plastics, diaper bulk, etc), push carts (autofills the truck team didn't do). I move everything on the sales floor right in front of the TV wall while the store is still open! and pretty much cover the back wall. before the new ETLS this used to not be a problem.
During 4th quarter, yeah probably. Right now we've been coming clean and our BRTL is obsessed with having the line and all of receiving clear once the truck is done.

All the closer has to do is make sure the pulls are gone and pull down all of the stacks of black pallets.

Those of you who have to put crap on the sales floor to set the line...where do they put all the pipo that comes off the truck? That usually takes up a few sales floor aisles during the unload.

My store is A+/AA Overnight process, so we get a truck every day of the week. Every day the Backroom closer is expected to set the line, and our line is very long so it can take 2+ hours if it's full and there isn't much space to put it elsewhere.

We only set the line if there's enough time after all the push and backstock are finished, i.e. the very end of the night, so it's highly unlikely a guest will buy anything where all the crap from under the line was moved to.

My personal record time for clearing and setting the line is 15 minutes, but there was barely anything under the line to move.

Now that flow is going back to overnight for BTC/BTS, they'll most likely do it themselves since they always complain about how we do it.

Usually the ETL-Log or whichever TL is overseeing the unload will pull PIPOs out to their respective departments, where the cardboard TM pushes them before starting cardboard.

So how do we drop manuel batches now. I was trying to figure it out but couldn't see on PDA.

Our store makes us call the lod for inf flexs. It sucks because I'll look for a softline item, can't find it, then get a softline tm to help, still can't find it. Now I have to call the lod to look and it takes them like 10 to even get over there because they were discussing next week's lunch plans and then we still cant find it. 40 mins wasted. Not only was the pick not found, of was over the 1 hour goal time as well because apparently calling the lod will somehow make the item appear.

We also get flexes that drop like 2 hours late
We have to let an lod "ok" something we cant find for an fa as well. We are told that if we cancel and order ( because we cant find the item) and a team lead and etl didn't ok it...we can be coached on the spot.

Go to Manage Inventory for an item on a MyDevice that is part of a fill group you want to have pulled. There should be a Fill Group listed that is a blue link you can click on.

Our line gets emptied onto the back wall. New pipo/ism get loaded into aisles closest to the back door. That way you can tell new pipo versus old pipo.

Anyone elses store changing the way shoes are backstocked? We've now got to backstock shoes by gender, brand and size.. male, female, boy, girl and by size and brand of each. I have no idea what the point of it is...

Has anyone figured out if there is a reason for some flexes dropping with a 2 hour goal time? I love it when it happens, but I can't seem to find any patterns. At first I thought it was just for Flexes that dropped during CAF times, but then both one hour and two hour goal time SPUs started dropping during CAFs.
I'm not sure exactly. It's only been unlocated softlines thusfar so that's my best guess is why. Could also be an option the guest selects when placing the order.

Yes. We have had our shoes backstocked this way for a couple weeks now. We were told it was because of the new way shoes will be displayed on the sales floor. Easier for tm's to find the shoes they need to fill the floor. That is what we were told..... Can anyone tell me why diapers have to be backstocked by brand as well? This ridiculous practice doubles the amount of time it takes to backstock diapers. What's next? Grocery by brand? Beverage? And they wonder why we can't come clean in the backroom every day.

I can kinda see sorting the shoes a little better but brand and style are as far as it would need to go. Very rarely is a style in girls shoes going to be found in women's. Doing it by size is complete overkill because if you're in that style's section, finding the size is easy.

Backstocking diapers by brand is flat out stupid. Most stores have just 1 diaper aisle on the floor. It's literally one of the easiest areas to stock.

It is stupid. We have the steel divided up with Up and Up, Pampers, Huggies and Luvs. Our DTL also wants all diapers of the same size together. So if you are trying to backstock Up and Up Size 6 and it is already located but full, he wants us to locu/subt the diapers located then re-backstock all the diapers in one section. Our TL just quit after 20 yrs with Target and no job lined up. This is probably one reason why.

We have always done our shoes by brand . All brands have a section and are kept together . The only issue is some name brands don't get as many as others....so you are constantly having to adjust to make more room for the areas that have more. I can see having all the name brands together and sizes of the same design etc but other than that ( IMO) any farther organization of shoes it un needed. Diapers...our new etl log tried to make sure backstock diapers by brand. He told me about it and then asked me didnt I think it would look better. I said sure...but its going to take longer. He said I dont think it will if it does it will only be a few minutes. However, he changed his mind when he had to bs diapers one truck day. I think he spent two hours back stocking one pallet of diapers. When the srtl/log jokingly ( he made it sound like he was joking but knowing him he was serious) asked was he still on that one pallet the etl/log said well I had to locu cause one name brand ran out of room ...so then I had to move the others...which mean those name brands ran out of room. I silently , thought yes this is what we tried to tell you ...but you wouldn't listen. The next we were told we no longer had to bs diapers with all name brands together. I wonder why....

We've always backstocked shoes by brand because it's so easy. Tons of space and only a handful a brands, which all have very distinct packaging. But backstocking by gender and size? That makes no sense and would take infinitely longer to do.

For the diapers we do organize the Up&Up giant packs and the pampers pipo assortment ones by brand and size. They all go in the same area of the steel and it doesn't seem to take long to do. It also decreases pull times because those are our best sellers and we usually need to pull multiples of each. The rest of the diapers are jumbled together in light duty and it's not a problem.
