Our store is going back to case stock and scanning rdc trucks for push or straight to back stock . I personally don’t like case stock. It makes the backroom aisles ba real fast and not to mention the product counts . It would be harder for the fulfillment guys too .

Yeah not a fan of that unless they were bringing back a full time back room team that was trained to actually backstock correctly and do the pulls correctly. Not like the salesfloor quantities are correct anyways so it really doesn't have any real idea what is push and what is backstock to begin with.

This doesn't sound familiar to me at all, and I've been Inbound and GM for a while.

Are you saying that you knew which casepacks weren't getting pushed to the salesfloor?

Is that like "trapping" for a certain area, or palletizing bulk DPCIs?

Basically, you scan each carton and it tells you whether it's push or backstock, which then goes to the appropriate vehicle. It went away ~5(?) years ago in favor of push all. No idea why they're bringing it back, as it means you have to set aside line space for backstock for those departments. Custom blocks will have to be adjusted to account for less granularity. I prefer push all personally.

We already started a trial for this process . One of the inbound TM does toys and stuff but the market backstock has to be done by me mostly . We started auditing salesfloor this week and hopefully keep doing it to make this process work . Also we really need to audit backroom as it’s a mess after the holiday season.
