I remember back among time ago when this thread had some potential...it was going somewhere... OP shared real feelings and impressions....
But an improper word was used and that was the end.
The thread became another rant on p c

There was a very good reason I avoided the question of race entirely.
I really didn't want to see the thread fall into that mess.
Still, it sounds to me that the OP was trying to describe what she considered to be 'unprofessional behavior' and the sad part is about 80% of this thread wouldn't have happened if those words had been used instead of the slang.
So while the slang term might have been more descriptive it created more of a furor than it did actual communication.
People often draw conclusions from peoples choices of words that aren't always accurate or fair.
Which makes me think a bit about the OPs thoughts about the people she worked with.
Is it possible that she made conclusions based on their choices of words and tone before she had a chance to get to know them?
