COVID-19 Will Target stores be required to refuse service to non-face-covering guests?

If the rule is against serving guests, Target could probably skate by that by...not serving them. You can't get any help from a TM.

So, no asking if we have something, getting items from the back, no deli meat/bakery items (if your store is doing those). You're required to go through self-checkout, no order pickups, no returns, etc. etc.

When he put his glasses in his vest I knew she was going down. That poor guy though, sighing with the "I really was hoping to avoid a wrestling match today" look.

What do you want to bet that her loved ones are going to put out that she is not normally like this, she's normally sweet and pure, she's just having a mental health breakdown right now, blah blah, lie about a mental illness to try and get people's sympathy instead of scorn. Seems to be the default follow up lately.

Asked all three of my aps today they said they arent enforcing it for safety reason.also its not just spot my other job got an email saying to remind customers gently but not to piss them off about it

😂 and then she was arrested while live streaming on Instagram

Punishment fit the crime. Too bad they can't make her pick that shit up/fix that up before carting her ass to jail. Those poor employees have to clean up her "adult"asses mess. That is not cool at all lady.

Based on those videos I'd have no problem believing she has some real issues.

I guess I'm just highly doubtful because all the people that behave cruelly to others (such as bogus 911 calls, racist and sexist remarks, intimidation, grabbing/hitting) tend to claim a mental health breakdown or mental health crisis when the expected positive social media reaction actually is negative social media reaction. But a lot of mental illnesses are not going to have someone calling 911 over a dog and then threatening the other person with what the police are going to do. The rate of serious mental illness would have to be a lot, lot higher than the actual rate to match the behaving badly claims and the symptoms are likely not going to be as well planned and executed as many of the actions these people post on social media.

And yeah, I'll own it, crying wolf is affecting my outlook. I'm a lot, lot more likely to have believed an irrational action taking place in January, before COVID-19 news and before George Floyd, is a sign of mental illness than anything that anyone does now, especially if it looks like it could be acting.

NC has a facemask mandate for the public but a number of counties have reported its not enforceable unless combined with another charge. Its leaving stores to enforce facemasks. I have seen 9/10 customers follow it instead of the 5/10 prior to the mandate. But the 1/10 not wearing a mask are getting nastier.

There will never be corporate facemask policy. Too varying to implement.

Oof, I found the longer version of that woman's video on YouTube...she is definitely in need of help.

Our county and state require wearing a mask. My coworker just told me today that if we see someone not wearing a mask not to confront those people. I am not sure if that came from any higher ups since I didnt hear the information first hand. Honestly with all the videos and first hand experience (long story short, lady without a mask screaming at this one store i went to and the sale clerks were scared) I feel uncomfortable confronting guests not wearing a mask since they might attack me for it. I already get yelled at when I tell guests they can’t use the fitting room.

No. Saw it in an email last week that we will not be enforcing it. They want the team member at the front to mention the mask mandate. And when the guest refuses there's some rambling bs speech about how we trust that the guest is doing what's best for their families and others blah blah blah.
At this point, anyone who doesn't wear a mask is basically a garbage human being IMO. Unless they truly can't for medical reasons and have no other way of getting supplies.

There's just no excuse. I'm already tired of dodging guests and TMs alike. I've had several incidents that have almost caused me to bolt and take another leave. Hoping I won't come across the straw that breaks the camel's back, but I already warned my family that it may be coming!

Take that nut to jail!

So they are having our cart cleaners confront the maskless. Last night she got shoves into her clean carts before dude stormed on inside the store. Spot is ridiculous. She is ok but ap refused to do anything. They dont want to "cause a scene". Rem3mber spit doesnt actually care about you fellows keep your wits about you and stay safe puck your battles

My store is covered by local mask mandate. Anyone who refuses gets escorted out by AP. We aren’t messing around 😂

I’d say 95% of guests have them on, and of the remaining 5%, the vast majority honestly forgot and are happy to run to their car to get it.

Honestly, I wish my store was more like this. All the rules here are just things we basically put on signs so people are "encouraged" to obey them.

The guest stealing 80% of her cart at self checkout? Don't be confrontational, you might anger the guest. Definitely don't call them out for stealing, maybe they just made a mistake.
Pets that clearly, unequivally, are absolutely not service dogs? Doesn't matter, don't confront the guest.
Guests without masks on? Don't say anything that might upset them.

We've had signs posted for weeks now that guests were required under state ordinance to wear masks in the store, but we were also explicitly told to not confront guests who ignore it. I think the only way we'd actually change that would be if our state began fining businesses that did businesses with non-masked customers.

We, non AP, were told that we can say to guests “per state law, you must wear a mask to shop with us”, however if they refuse, we are not supposed to do anything else, just call ap and they will handle it

we also say nothing to non service animals though
