2023 New pilots?

I'm still mind blown that they're contemplating removing the S&E ETL from some of the store levels. I could see it being okay for a super low volume, but definitely not for anything over 50 mil. Even then... 😨 Do we know what the threshold is? (apologies if I missed it in the thread).

Target's "guest first" mantra will never disappear from the mind of the guest and it's going to be a nightmare situation for the person that has to take on their BS. Likely, the S&E TL(s) who have more than enough to do.

I would have zero problems with my S&E ETL being reassigned. As it is right now, too many leaders make for a lot of pot stirring.
I dunno about y'all but in my store it's always the S&E ETL that's always getting Starbucks, walking around the store, and getting up people's ass about minor mistakes. I'd be happy to see that person taken down a peg.

What do they do that a S&E TL doesn’t do?

so. few things. some people hate it some people really like it. honestly the biggest issue is closing. they’re cutting corners. like i think we had 4 closers. 1 to 8:30 the others to 10. 1 person left early. leaving 2 closers at the end of the day…. also we’re the size of a super lol.

another weirder issue is beauty and tech have grown to own their dept and it basically getting taken away. beauty has looked like shit for the past month.

Personally it’s working great in tech. all we do is push back wall. usually have someone that pushes toys but we mainly push baby (eventually style will take baby), pets, entertainment, sporting goods, toys (to help).

tech comes in at 8. opener leaves at ab 4:30. giving tech about 3 hours of overlap.

Does your store have a Beauty TL that oversees just beauty and ULTA? If so, what has their new workload looked like?

We don’t have an ulta unfortunately. We were supposed to get one and even chose the person who was going to be the Ulta TL but turns out we were like an inch too close to a real ulta so we never got it :/

Beauty has been the hardest part of this change. They’re honestly abusing them a bit.

Our ETL's and leads get Starbucks on their breaks just like everyone else who wants it. I have never seen anyone walking around with coffee or anything other than water in a clear closed container at our store.

Not necessarily pilot related but some spring meeting info. They’re officially getting rid of DBOs and 2023 is all about retail fundamentals. The pilot will likely be rolling out chain wide after they tweak some things during the pilot but the intention is it’s all happening. Supposedly starting in April mytime will combine some workcenters like inbound/GM so it’s just one bucket and DBOs are gone.

It will be interesting having less workcenters in myTime along with no DBO/shift tags for that area; how will my TLs be responsible for specific areas if everyone is in the same bucket?

Is because inbound owns all the push . The “ dbos” are not inbound , at my store we still keep the same people in the areas that they were . And the gmtl essentially just follows up on zone and workload , no need for price change because we have a team for that.

Yeah these were just high level notes from the meeting. We supposedly get all the information tomorrow so I’ll share if there’s anything more specific. I assume the same way sales floor used to function. Shift tags/set schedules will also be something that’s you’ll be encouraged not to use. There won’t be a ton of process changes or big changes until after the pilot but some tweaks and things I assume that are to prep for the pilot roll out.

That’s been for 3 years now
No more cosmetic specialist here. Just lumped 10 more aisles of cosmetics into 15 aisles of hba and call the whole work center Beauty. 1 TM per 8 hours were open to work it. Looks like shit over a third of the store now. Cosmetics are pilfered by spoiled local rich kids for kicks since no one can consistently monitor the area. TL s hide in the office during those after school hours and tell TM s to ,"throw them out" if they( these kids) bother your work center.

Degenerate central. There have been points where I was told to go up to guests if I saw them stealing and say 'hey I think you forgot to scan something' and I have 0 AP training whatsoever. I refused to and they never said anything more on the subject until the next time they decided it was a thing we should do.

We are told to watch, then told to stock stuff, then scolded for not catching thieves.

Guess I never thought about how bad the store was. I assumed it was like this everywhere for the longest time.
“It’s not my money”
Repeat

Not worth $17.40 getting shot, stabbed, maced, or tassered, as has happened in stores I worked.
